Just a reminder that Patsy was a real woman.

For this scene, she deserved the Oscar! Brilliant acting!

The fact these people thought the Bible justified what they were doing is sick

Movies like these barely scratched the SURFACE of the severity of slavery

This is not even the worst part of this scene. If you've seen the movie, you know what I'm talking about.

This was the scene -- no, the END of it which is not shown -- that finally wrenched tears from my eyes.  That poor woman.  Ebbs was truly a monster.  A nasty, evil-tempered man who I was personally rooting for to get his comeuppance.

She is so pretty she is not afraid to look ugly when acting.

"Mrs.Epps won't even grab me no soap to clean with....I stink so much I make myself gag!"

I lost it at that point. What an awesome actresses.

This was the first time I've ever felt an utter HATRED for a character in a film.

But it proves that Michael Fassbender is an amazing actor.

Saw this movie twice. Second time around, it occurred to me.
Lupita had very little dialogue in this movie and yet her performance speaks volumes. Her simple nuance and actions say more than her actual words.

Give her the OSCAR! I don't care if this is her first movie, that shouldn't matter! This was the best  female supporting performance of the year (possibly the best female performance in general.)

It really bothers me that we never get to find out what happened to Patsey once Solomon leaves the plantation. It disgusts and saddens me that she probably lived out the remainder of her life stuck in that hellhole and having to put up with whatever Epps dealed to her.

Honestly the fact that even after this there is still racism in the world is just beyond me

This is what people don’t get. They don’t get the hardship that they had to go through. They barely ate, barely had clothes, barely had a place to sleep, and couldn’t even clean themselves

I've never seen such emotion from any other actress than Lupita. She's so talented and not afraid to show it. She 100% deserved that Oscar fair and square.
