Damn that was a hell of a movie line up. Could have went either way. 12 years a slave deserved it. That movie will stand for decades.

Now Brad Pitt has an Oscar for producing AND acting. I’m proud of him.

I believe in an interview Brad Pitt said to him the movie is about how important and valuable freedom is. How awful it is to have it taken away.
That's an intelligent way of looking at it I think.

A masterpiece won Best Picture whaaat? i can't remember when a film that i thought was the best film of the year actually won the best film Oscar, its brilliant that they recognised true quality this year. Slave is such a powerful film.

Watching Steve McQueen literally jump for joy is an amazing and heartwarming sight. It shores how much passion he had for that project and how he loves his job. I'm really happy for him and I can't wait to see more of his films in the future.

To me, ''12 Years a Slave'' is an instant classic. It will be remembered for years and years along with others Best Picture winners. The movie has its flaws, but the message is so powerful and touching and the performances are just WOW! This movie is about the triumph of the human condition. I bought and read the book! I'm just sad that ''The Wolf of Wall Street'' and ''Nebraska'' didn't win nothing.

Finally saw this movie today. I cried all the way home. Patsy is the such a tragic story. I hope she found peace, if not in this life, then with the Lord afterward.

I don't care if there are people judging this movie being overrated. And I mean so what. Overrated or not. 12 Years A Slave deserved to win for Best Picture. Everything about it was taken seriously. The actors had put a lot of effort into their acting. The cinema photography is excellent. Yes the story is compellingly shocking and very sad. But we cannot forget that this film is dedicated to teach people about historical slavery and all kinds of slavery that still exists today.

Paul Dano deserved so much to be up on the stage at The Oscars. His perfomance as John Tibeats was terrific. Dano should have been nominated for best supporting actor.

12 years a slave is one of the most emotional films I’ve ever seen and I‘ll ever see.
It’s an absolute masterpiece and every single man and woman who worked on this movie, no matter in which part, deserves an own Oscar.
