The scene after this is just, gruesome, and just watching it... makes me feel horrible, a mix of empathy towards that girl, but also disgust towards the slave owner.

I still can't comprehend how people could do this to others, how can someone do such a thing to a living being? It's still curious how we consider the good things human, but those things not...

I'm glad that slavery is finally over and no one will escape with such a thing unpunished, atleast that is what I hope.

Patsey wanted some soap. Trip wanted some shoes. What happened to them both as a consequence was horrific. What happened to the artists that played them both at the Oscars in 2014 and 1990 was poetic justice.
