'Dont tell me my husband died from COVID. They Murdered Him'

In this special series - 'Breathless in the City' we bring you the People Behind the Numbers and ask: Who Will take accountability for deaths that many doctors have said amount to culpable homicide. In this episode, we take you Inside the Horror of one such Hospital - Jaipur Golden Hospital in Delhi. Barkha Dutt meets the wife of Inder Mohan Singh who died on the 24th of April.

At least 25 patients were reportedly dead on that day after the Hospital's Oxygen Supply stopped. His wife Jaswinder told Mojo Story that the hospital neither informed them that about oxygen shortage nor acknowledged that her husband died due to oxygen shortage. She says, "It's not natural death. It's murder" and breaks down saying strict action should be taken against the hospital administration and the guilty must be punished. She also said that her husband's health was improving and had there been no oxygen shortage, he would have been alive today. She further says that his life could have been saved only if the hospital would have asked them to get oxygen cylinders.

Madam my brother is also murdered..in NH hospital Mysore..due to medical negligence and medicine overdose... pls help me fight back this madam ...it's happening all over India and when I want and fought in hospital they said it's there will and wish they and give any medicine I have proof for it and they also said if we want to file a case against it we can go do but nothing will harm them we are given full authority it do whatsoever I have proof for this please support me ...my brother age is just 35yrs .... Sd.Indermohan singh was my child hood freind.we studied together.our family met in that month for first time after so many years.It is beyond my concious mind to think anything after I got a message of his death.I request the authority to have some strict action against this hospital, do that the culprit get penalised for their heinous

Very Unfortunate. Even more unfortunate is the negligent and callous approach of the hospital against which no action has been taken and has gone scot free, waiting in the wings to serve society once again, when the third wave strikes, with their Bouncers of-course. These affected families will never forget and the Courts should now be approached for appropriate Justice. If the bereaved Families had approached the Courts during the Uphaar Tragedy, why not now

Srijan Das: You are missing the real issue here. Acceptance becomes lot easier when one sees after all honest efforts being made in a medical facility, someone still couldn't make it.
Yes more people have died in USA but not due to lack of treatment especially for God's sake due to lack of oxygen. Barkha is presenting stories after stories where highest rated hospitals are suppressing the fact that the patient died due to lack of oxygen. The patient's relatives are saying if they were only told, they would have immediately arranged oxygen from the open market. Why didn't the management ask for help from the relatives? Instead of arranging security force to shield from patient's wrath, why didn't they see that proper medical aids were made available in advance? It smacks of nothing but callous and apathy for human lives. When religion is used as an addictive drug (building Ram Mandir is far more important than medical infrastructure) and most people don't even ask for cause of death, this kind of macabre death dance would continue. We will just keep hearing and watching these horror stories. As Vivekananda once cried out of sheer frustration "This is a country of onlookers only but no action".
