Probably the best scene of Titanic.

I do not own this material. (You don't say)

The real last words if any one is wondering was "Gentleman I bid you farewell" so touching

The look of bravery but also terror on his face as he looks at the relentlessly approaching ocean is haunting.

To think that this man was only 33 years old when he died.

His body was found 2 weeks later fully dressed with his music case still strapped to his body. What a way to go.

I love this scene so much. He says the line with much elegance and class. Fucking badass.

This is based on a true story, actually. There were seven musicians on the Titanic, all of them died when it sank. They did play music in an attempt to calm the passengers down as much as humanly possible. They were later recognized and posthumously awarded for their bravery. So yeah, that just makes the scene that much better because it's basically 100% true.

A sad thing about the band players: their families weren't compensated after the men died. There was a back and forth on who should pay the families, the ship company or the band contractors. Even worse, they even went as far as to bill the families for the men's suits they were forced to buy and wear on board.

This seems like hollywood addition, but according to survivors, it really happened. The ship's band continued to play hymns on the deck until the churning water swept them away, so that some of the people who were panicking would be calmed down so the evacuation could proceed faster and those who might not make it off could spend their last minutes in prayer. These men sacrificed themselves to try and lend a little comfort to people who were doomed. They may have directly contributed to some of the lives saved by calming people down, and if you're of a spiritual bent certainly saved many souls.

Heroes come in many forms, and they should be remembered.

And the thing is, this really happened. The band played on to the very end. At first it is what they did because it was their job to play for the guests, but eventually they did it for reasons beyond words. Its beyond being heroes-- its something else. something so kind and beautiful, its legendary.

Some people hate on this movie from time to time. Rightfully so, the film is a tad bit overrated. There are a few moments that really stand out.

And this... This is probably the most powerful moment. I love this scene.

The only scene that made me cry from this movie.

Wallace Hartley 1878-1912. Out of all the Titanic victims, more people came to his funeral than anyone else. Not the Captain, not the richest man in the world.

The band men will forever be the heroes for me! Aged between 20—33..some bravery they showed! Their scenes in the movie always tear me up bad! It has always been more emotional for me to see them go down than Jack.. Because Jack was fictional.. These men weren't!
