This scene was chilling. No music. No action. Just a serious tone and the looks of horror on their faces. This actually may be close to my favorite scene in the whole movie.

Victor Garber's performance in this is so underrated. "She's made of iron, sir! I assure you, she can" is my favorite line in the movie, and he delivers it so well. He truly deserved an Oscar nod.

There is no words to describe how chilling and haunting this last line was. Not to mention the look in Bernard Hill's eyes.

They way he delivers the “ I belive you may get your headline mr ismay” is my FAVORITE in the whole movie. He’s not even blaming him because it’s his fault too, but he’s saying that they are going down no matter what but hey for what it’s worth, you’ll get your headlines

When Captain Smith asks how many souls on board and his face when he realizes that there are not nearly enough boats for everyone sends chills down my spine every time.

The actors in this movie did an amazing job. Makes you feel like you're really part of the situation with genuine fear and concern.

People have probably mentioned this but the shot of the blueprint of Titanic at 0:30 seconds is amazing. The way the camera makes the blueprint look like the way Titanic goes down when she is sinking. Very subtle but great imagery.

The way Andrews dismisses any possible hope is so unsettling.

“She can stay afloat with the first 4 compartments breached, but not 5...not 5.”

“The pumps buy you time- but minutes only.”

“She’s made of Iron sir. I assure you she can and she will. It’s a mathematical certainty.”

You can just feel the shock, despair, and utter disbelief among the characters in this scene.

I love the slightly condescending tone Andrews takes with Ismay, and also how quickly he responds to Ismay’s “but the ship can’t sink” line. Almost as though he was just waiting for someone in the room to say that.

“She’s made of iron, sir! I assure you she can, and she will”

It’s especially chilling because at that moment, everything seemed perfectly fine
