Titanic is a prime example of a movie aging perfectly. It'll be timeless and will look good in 50 years.

the chef who survived because he was so drunk that it helped his body survive the cold water is truly a legend

When the chief engineer was yelling “keep them breakers in! Keep em in!” I felt the pure fear and desperation in his voice. Props to them for risking it all to keep the power on.

Eva Hart, one of the survivors who died in 1996 at the age of 91, insisted in interviews that the ship had broken in half. It was at first a widely debated rumour that was later proven to be true after the discovery of the wreck site in 1985.

I still can’t believe how James Cameron made the sinking so realistic. He is truly a legend.

A moment of silence for the men in the engine room. They were the true heros that night - choosing to continue to provide the ship with light and current instead of trying to save their own lives. Tragically none of them survived. May all of them rest in eternal peace ❤

In real life this was a moonless night. Imagine this scene completely in the dark.

There is just something about the lights going out that sends shivers down my spine. The ship's fate was sealed after hitting the iceberg, but in the moment the lights go out, it's almost as if to say: if there was any chance Titanic would survive, any hope at all, it was gone in that very moment.

I always thought the shot of the ship as the lights went off was scary

0:34 never noticed the hull actually starting to bend before the actual snap occurred, nice little detail

This scene truly is my favourite from the movie. You can see the fear and shame on the people in the lifeboats, especially Ismay mixed in with Titanic nose down in the water. The heroism from the crew, fighting to hold the electricity on as long as possible. Then the feel of doom when the electricity goes down and the entire ship goes dark. As a viewer I can really feel my heart beat throughout this scene, It does a great job creating emotions of hopelessness and doom as you know what's about to happen. Then you see the metal starting to break as the ship is starting to tear itself in two with the stern falling onto so many people desperately trying to survive. All that combined with the masterful music really makes this a scene that is hard to forget. You really feel like a passenger in those life boats, atleast I do.Amazing!

On a side note, the people that got crushed by the stern were ironically the lucky ones. They didn't need to suffer from slowly dying from hypothermia with rescue so close but so far away. The life boats did the right thing by staying away until most had died but they waited TOO long and only one came back.

The look on Ruth’s face as she watches this disaster unfold before her eyes, knowing her daughter is not only still on the ship, but intentionally CHOSE to abandon her and remain on the ship with certain death. That’s how much she hurt her daughter, and she’s only just now realizing it, and there’s nothing she can do.

0:31 The sound she like the ship is a living thing herself and screaming in agony as she's torn apart by the stress.

*0:31** Poor Titanic, is screaming of the pain. This sound effects in this sequence is really impressive. They deserved the Oscar for this job.*

0:29 How the ship loses all its electricity and lights along with that chilling echoing horrifying sound is so terrifying, it was like the Titanic grunted in pain. The way how the Titanic loses its lights and fades into the darkness of the ocean just makes it a horrible sight especially for the people watching it on the boat...

James Cameron did an absolutely unbelievable job. I don't think anyone would've made a better movie even with today's tech and CGI. Even the smallest of details are fine as heck.

00:31 That sound along with the dying electricity is more terryfying than any horror movie.

For all of you who don't understand, the mens in the generator room are the real heroes... And if you heard Yes it sounds like gunshots but it fits the scene well... Why? Because wood and metals are breaking...
