BioWare: "this has been edited to avoid spoilers"

also BioWare: "Ghilan'nain has an Archdemon and is attacking Weisshaupt"

lmao they could've just said "here is a mission where you fight darkspawn" and left it at that

So you’re telling me as a warrior I can Sparta Kick someone off a ledge, drop kick them, throw my shield like I’m Captain America, and make them “GET OVER HERE” like scorpion? Yeah might have to play a warrior this time around 😂

I'm gonna have a hard time resisting the urge to dropkick everything when I do my warrior playthroughs.

Auto-loot is gonna come in clutch with so many enemies like that, I hate wasting time in souls games waiting just to see if an enemy drops an item.

"Footage has been edited for brevity and to avoid major spoilers."

Proceeds to spoil Ghilan'nain and her Archdemon xd

It is interesting though. Also, good to see executions back.

"There's worse than Darkspawn on the way..."

The impression I get from this is that your companions are basically nothing but damage sponges except when you activate their special abilities etc. I find this very frustrating - your companions are supposedly elite fighters etc. and should deal proper damage as well. One of the most annoying things in Jade Empire (way back!) was that your companions basically didn't do any damage. Ok so I recruit this supposedly incredibly dangerous, double-axe wielding badass who is famous for massacring so many people - and he basically can't beat anyone in a fight. Looks very much the same thing here.

In Mass Effect (2), the companions weren't MVPs or anything, but they did sort of pull their weight: you gave Garrus a good sniper rifle and he would actually drop enemies. Please try and aim for the same here.

I really can't decide what class I want to be on my first playthrough! I can't wait to see more mage gameplay

Omg is that face that flashes briefly between 3:50 and 3:51 Ghilan'nain? I'm so excited!

I've been told to skip the first 16 seconds because they include HEAVY spoilers for fans of the series since Origins, don't what it says but I t just feels right to do so, make sure you do.

Whilst Rook's combat looks great, it's sad to watch the companions in the background doing a fraction of the damage (excluding their player controlled abilities) than Rook does. It's a lot less noticeable with high level combat though; I remember watching Harding and Varric's arrows doing chip damage in the original early gameplay showcase.

Having already have gone through the mourning period for the DA series to return to Origins style, for what Bioware is aiming for here, this actually looks pretty decent. With the recent trailer + this showcase, I can genuinely say I am starting to feel more excited now.

I will most definitely avoid the pause wheel since it seems annoying to keep using it during combat. Glad we can equip the abilities to buttons as shortcuts

There's two things i'm thinking about here: Mass Effect and Tresspasser. If this quality level is held in the writing and world building, we have a winner on our hands. The only thing that worries me is that some of the monsters look a bit goofy instead of scary.

"Territory is a resource" reminds me of "Warfare is the efficient use of time and space, lost space can be recovered, lost time, never."

Really worried about the companions. They appear to be next to useless on their own, like they're basically just there for the extra skill slots and combos. Will have to play it to get a feel for it.
