I think the M1 MBA is worth a mention since i've seen it on sale for $799 for the base model and for that price, it is an absolute steal for people who want a 13 inch laptop for office work.

I replaced my XPS 15 with a MacBook pro 14 at the beginning of the year. IMHO, that is still one of the very best laptops on sale at any price. It's very expensive but considering how well rounded it is, it's actually a pretty decent value. I can't believe we live in a world where a nearly $3K Macbook is a good value.

good picks!
i like fair and balanced reviews across different devices. some reviewers have brand or use-case bias, especially mac vs pc that you might be only getting a partial picture instead of one fitting various needs across gaming, content creation, and productivity all in one video. this content is more true to the video title than many others’s “best” lists while still giving your opinion as to why you picked them.

I have always liked Lenovo laptops, especially for business. Lenovo as of late has had so many QC issues that I have to think twice about buying another. My last X1 Carbon was so terrible I ended up returning it and bought another brand. The reviews for the Z13 mentioned reflect that there are several issues with that laptop so unfortunately, Lenovo has to really increase their QC to earn my business.

I have the Alienware m15 R7 with the Ryzen 6800h, DDR5, RTX 3070ti and it’s amazing. Had a 240hz 1440p display, and a mux with HDMI bypass. It runs anything maxed out, has great customization, and the cooling is superb.

Excellent. Precise, to the point video that sums up the best of this year.

recently picked up the Lenovo Yoga 9i, 4k OLED – absolutely loving it. the beautiful display and design paired with a 360⁰ sound bar make it a great laptop for content consumption. sure the screen is a bit power hungry but I'm fine with that. I've been using a legion 7 slim for over a year as my personal and work laptop so I'm just happy to have something smaller and lighter. I went back and forth between the 9i and the MacBook Pro 14" but went Yoga for my preference of Android and Windows to iOS and Mac OS.

part of me wants the Mac simply for the efficiency of the m1 chips but I feel I would miss out on the 4k panel and excellent speakers. I also would no longer have a touch screen convertible with stylus support.

I feel like people underestimate how big of a flaw the lack of ports are, MacBooks having two usb c and no usb a is ridiculous

Awesome vid and perfect timing. Looking for laptop this Xmas. Unfortunately in Australia reasonable laptops all top the $1, 000 with all Macbooks starting over $2, 000. Leaning to Dell XPS

I have a Legion 5 Pro from last year. 11800H and Nvidia 3050Ti upgrade to 32 Gb ram & 2 Tb ssd. Enough for me :)

If you want a lightweight big screen 2 in 1 the samsung galaxybook 2 pro 360 is a pretty good choice. Oled display, good included pen, pretty affordable and not as plastic feeling as the gram

The ASUS G14 temp issue can be easily solved by disabling boost. It's not really a valid criticism.
Disabling boost can be disabled in 5 minutes by following a simple tutorial on Youtube.

Great video. I’ve had the pavilion 360 since it came out in 2014 and it’s at its wits end. Currently searching up new laptops and i love my pavilion, it’s great you said that the newer pavilion is still on top. Might stick within the pav family or start to invest in a gaming laptop. whichever one is best for college students overall

My rule of thumb is: Never buy a laptop unless it's on sale. Their MSRPs are simply too high and they go on sale a lot. After much deliberation, I ended up buying the MSI Summit Flip 13.4" 2 in 1 from Costco. It has the Core i7-1280p, 16GB Ram, 1TB Gen 4 NVME that is super fast. It also has a nice 16:10 120Hz touch screen. Yes, it gets hot like every other 12th gen Intel CPU does, but its a really nice laptop. Best of all, I paid $750 USD for it.

Perfect time for a vid like this 👍. I know the list of contenders would be short, but I'd like to see a best and advantage laptop as well.

The only 15 inches I would buy is XPS 15... I prefer 14 inches. 13.3 is too small - you get shortcut with specs. 14 inches - ideal. G14 or Vivobook X14 Pro. Blade 14 looks awesome but the pricing is RIDICULOUS. They say LG deteriorated with quality in those new grams...
