Wow. I remember one time she caused an extremely chaotic situation against me and my family and the police actually were called. After the incident I told her she had to leave and she broke down like a 5 year old crying uncontrollably and she sat in the closet crying saying over and over “What did I do”. I tried to rationally explain the situation but she could not understand. She then took some of her prescribed Xanax and once she was medicated she called another guy she knew and went with him and told me she hated me etc….It was insane. I was just relieved at the moment to be away from her because I was having anxiety from the whole ordeal and had to get away. She called me a day later pleading with me that she really loved me and wanted to be with me and nobody else. The whole thing was really traumatic but I did eventually take her back. Wow when I think back it was really crazy. I’m lucky to have survived. I think back and I feel so bad for her and I would love to see her get the help she needs but I cannot be with her. It’s just too toxic and intense. I can’t deal with it mentally or physically.
When they flip it is scary and dangerous.

The character portrayed by Glenn Close in the Movie Fatal Attraction had numerous signs of the borderline personality disorder.

Friendly reminder you dont have to tolerate this or keep going out with someone with bpd. Have compassion and understanding yes but at same time its your wellbeing at stake. Dont feel guilty if you need to leave. Being a martyr wont help and will leave u emotionally broken

Thanks for bringing awareness to this. About 4 therapists misdiagnosed me and I wish they hadn’t because much pain and suffering has occurred. Now that I am aware of these issues I will work towards healing and controlling my temper. Also want to point out BPD usually develops after much abuse/neglect in childhood. So DONT BE JUDGEMENTAL of others.

Postpartum depression triggered BPD in my wife & OMG she has been a 21 year nightmare to live with. The slightest thing triggers her out of control emotions & BOOM off she goes: reckless spending, intense mood swings, cheating with coworkers, & then just like that as calm & as loving as can be. Recent Example: Driving in car - I would not take the road she wanted me to, BOOM - she went into a 6 hour intense anger rage. Prior to giving birth she was an awesome wife, so you never know, marriage is like rolling the dice.

As someone with bpd these comments on these types of videos make me feel like trash..the generalizing, the dehumanizing… I understand y’all are telling your experience with your person but not everyone with bpd does what have been done to you.. and we still deserve to be loved.

The 'All deals are off the table' bit is something that really got to me when it happened. My ex had an awareness of some of her problems, and gave assurances that there were things she'd never do. My naive autistic brain trusted her. Then the flip came, and it turned out to all be promises she was in no position to make.

I was. Diagnosed with bpd by a psychiatrist in jail and I spent 3 years in intensive group psychotherapy and art therapy and believe me It changed me in so many ways not fixed but I’ve stayed out and not killed any more people (little joke) It was armed robbery this vid was absolutely so on the money!!! And very well put together

My husband was the absolute best at dealing with my BPD . He's the only one that ever made me feel loved and loved me the way I am. Just as i love him the way he is.
He was perfect. My one. My favorite person forever.

Hi, I’m Francesca from Italy and I have BPD. I got my diagnosis about a year ago, after a suicide attempt.
I swear I’ve almost seen any video on the internet about this disorder. I’d like to say that this one in particular is one of the best I’ve ever seen: it’s super clear, detailed and I just keep up with the content as the doctor expresses herself in a way that keeps me focused (why I usually am not, I’m probably ADHD).
Thank you doctor for sharing with the YouTube community your knowledge 🙏🏼

Thank you so much for this informative, fair representation of what it is to experience BPD. As someone who has struggled heavily with Borderline, it is often difficult for me to explain to friends and family to help them understand. There is sometimes so much guilt, shame, and fear that I just want to underplay what I experience. Thank you for giving me this tool to share and help loved ones understand. 🌹

I think people are worthy to be loved, Even traumatized ppl with bpd. People arent either good or bad. I hate when ppl with bpd are being demonized. Its mostly a severe attachment disorder.

This is amazing! Thank you for such good info. Being in a relationship with a person who suffers from BPD is exhausting. I really loved her, however we always ended up in bad places. It never changed.

Can you please do a video on the differences between BPD and CPTSD and what it’s like if they are co-morbid with each other?

I love the way you express yourself, putting things in perspective in a complete and logical way.

My ex thought I lied to her about one of my exes, but I was always honest. So, My ex put one of my exes pictures on a dating website and put my phone number in the profile. I had so many guys messaging me lol. Freaking nuts. All logic and rationality, along with long term effects go out the window.

This is exactly like my ex was. I was her everything at the beginning but she was constantly in fear I was going to leave her or betray her in some way and used to act like it was the end of the world if the slightest little thing happened in how relationship sometimes resulting in me being assaulted for the slightest thing that she perceived as negative. She threaten to kill herself on a few occasions when we had decided to split. She used to impulse buy books and other things when she was stressed so much so the house was full with over 400 unread books. When she eventually decided to end it, she just brutal told me that she was dating again as need to be happy and that was that. Now I'm the worse thing on the planet and was and am the cause of all her problems despite worshipped her and never doing anything to break her trust during our 2 year relationship. She's now told the police that I have been going to her home and leaving love messages on her door step made from wood which I absolutely haven't been. So I decided to not contact her anymore as this sort of delusion is dangerous! I wish she had help and this could have been managed because despite everything I truly loved her and still do

Thank you so much for this video. I am working hard to keep my eye on the prize even though it's a difficult goal to treat living with borderline. I am leaning heavily into the fact that I've made it through a few decades of adult living without the benefit of insight and skills, so I should be able to deal with this now. It's just so not a good time, I would not wish this on anyone. :(

Try the ketogenic diet for BPD, good chance it Will calm things down . The ups and downs from a carb based diet is not good for people with mental challenges.

Thanks very informative
My experience.
BPD will often self medicate with alcohol or Marijuana to the point of addiction.
Some also suffer from OCD.
