This was excellent. I struggle with many of these traits. I have a laundry list of achievements in life but I am a serious self rejecter/self sabotage person. I'm a 37 year old male and so many younger men look up to me which is ironic because of the way I both view and treat myself. I strongly believe a lot of these traits are rooted in childhood for me coming from a dysfunctional and abusive home.

Thank you for this episode. I am currently working to understand the origins of my behavior and replace those behaviors with new ones. The crazy part is that I would have likely been the top in the world in some field by now if it wasn't for such a poisonous mindset. I've done okay but wow I'm leaving an insane amount on the table.

yeah, I recognize things pretty easily my problem is I can't get myself to stop feeling possessed by them. Like I feel as if they turn me into a magnet pulling me toward the things I want to avoid and repels me from what I should be working towards. It's annoying to lets say quit smoking for a day and then wind up realizing I have my shoes on and getting ready to head out to the gas station to buy a pack of smokes
