Starship Launch 4 In May | Russia New Plan To Defeat SpaceX | Mysterious Object Found In Milky Way

Hello friends,
Welcome back to another episode of Engineering Today, and I hope you’re all having a great time.

Elon Musk has shared the plans for the upcoming Starship mission after a successful static fire test of the giant rocket. The next launch, expected in early May, will focus on safely bringing the Starship back to Earth from orbit for the first time.

SpaceX recently completed a second static fire test of the Ship 29 rocket in Texas and it fired up all six of its engines.

HUGE THANKS TO:

AUDIO:

To be resolved, thank you.

Now, this was a great episode, vastly different content from the other boring channels ("SpaceX just bolted metal sheet A to metal sheet B and moved a bucket from one building to another")

It does NOT heat up because of friction. That is a very common misperception. The heating occurs because of the compression of gasses in the path of the de-orbiting object.

reentry heating is caused by compression not friction

Sorry, but the FAA does not 'run the mishap investigation'. It's up to SX to determine root cause and permanent corrective actions, and any preventive actions. They present the evidence to the FAA and FAA performs the verification (root cause appears reasonable, corrective action(s) are effective at reducing or removing the cause(s) of the mishap. SX is in communication with the FAA during the whole process, but SX runs the show except for the verification.

I love Space X, Starship and it's Heavy booster, but that moon lander could be a lot better!

The heat of re-entry is not caused by friction, rather, it is caused by compression of the air that can’t get out of the way quick enough.
This is evidenced by the glowing plasma in the shockwave that precedes the skin of the spacecraft.

No one company will ever bet SpaceX, never, not even u Russia

Всё нам приходится отстраивать почти с нуля. Но главнее тяжёлой космонавтики - обеспечить благополучие и безопасность граждан.

Russia has to beat Japan and India before the US 🌚

My guess is they're going for May 4th for the next starship launch.

Would have appreciated more detail on that new Russian launcher especially after the mention of partially reusable boosters are they liquid 13:11 fuelled or solid fuelled

One realization I have made, is with the numbers of planets and stars, a possible sign of advanced civilisation would be things in convenient locations and spacings.
Any Spacefaring culture is gonna realize moving asteroids to orbit closer to home is better than needing to carry the mined materials great distances. And if you were moving progrssively larger items, your tech to do it would advance. and eventually herding planets and stars.
Systems like Trappist could be a sign of such, or a dead give away would be systems with multiple planets in the same orbit.
Or possibly close clusters of Stars and planets to cut distances for cooperation.

Does anyone believe what comes out of Russia?

It appears that the design team at Roscosmos photoshopped a drawing of a Falcon Launch vehicle and put their name on it🤪

The heat produced during reentry is NOT due to friction... it is due to compression...

I wonder how they're going to solve the problem of air on the moon

Reminds me of when the Ruskies copied the Space Shuttle, which then exceeded at, but then they ran out of customers and money.
