I'm still seeing a lot of confusion about the calories in dry rice vs cooked rice, in spite of the video I published on measuring dry vs cooked food...

So I'm hoping today's video provides you with more clarity. #shorts

English: rice is absorbing water which adds only volume to the food. Water has no calories. Meaning 160Cal dry rice is the same as cocked. Only difference if the rice has blown up from water.

life saver, saved my life. You deserve all the good for your family. Had to go through a million BS video only to further confuse my self. Now i have a very clear insight, qq : is it safe to use a calorie calculator from cooked to uncooked(found some online, unsure if that is accurate)? does that make sense?

Ive made this rookie mistake before! I also cross-check calories/macro values between various listings of a particular food item and multiple calorie counting apps whenever possible. Values can waaay off at times. After all this cross-checking and consistent tracking, you develop an intuition and a decent sense of calories/macros of an ever growing list of food items.

What are your thoughts on weighing raw meat vs cooked meat? Also, props to having a rice cooker! Tastes a lot better imo than making it by stove top.

Trying to put it into clearer words for myself, is this right?

• Weigh grams of all the rice together

• Divide by 45 (labels suggested serving size) for portion size

• To figure out calories multiply portion size times calories on bag/pack

• Divide both by portion size to figure out cals and grams

Thank you for this useful guide by the way!!

Okay I have a question...if I'm cooking entire pot of rice using 3 cups how would I track that down to the servings? 🤔

I believe you but what’s the whole thing with the term yield and how 1 cup dry is 3 cup yield
