🙋‍♀️ Hi, my name is Charlotte Fraza a third year PhD student in Computational Neuroscience at the Donders institute in the Netherlands. With this Channel I hope to teach the world about Computational Neuroscience and give current and prospective students the tools to enter this field. I hope you enjoy the videos ❤️.

Thank you for sharing this guidance on textbooks. I want to point out another gem: I used "An Introductory Course in Computational Neuroscience" authored by Paul Miller and it was one of the best textbooks I have come across!

I think some of my favorite Neuroscience books would are: The neuron, From molecules to networks, Fundamentals of human neuropsychology, Cognitive nueroscience, and comparative psychology.

Computational Neuroscience lots of these are good. Thanks for the video.

Constance Hammond's Cellular and Molecular Neurophysiology. I cannot recommend it enough for those with a strong background in the field. Less computational, more neuroscience but lots of descriptions of experimental results. It is fantastic and dry as beef jerky.

Mardia's Multivariate Analysis is a gem of a gem, also for those with at least some background in linear algebra and multivariate statistics.

I could list a dozen data science / machine learning references worth getting. The Bishop one in your thumbnail is a go-to classic. The book Mathematics for Machine Learning by Deisenroth et al is at least as useful as the Deep Learning one and it is very beginner friendly.

I'm addicted to your videos ... I've never seen a youtuber in academics who are doing their job directly as you do ...

Out of Our Heads by Alva Noe is a good read on consciousness from a cognitive and philosophical perspective that probably runs parallel to Dennet’s theory.

Very informative and helpful video thank you so much:'). My favorite book is Mathematics for Neuroscientist by fabrizio thats a hell of a little easier to read and its requires background in calc and differential equations.

Would love to see "what would I do if I redo my Bachelor/Master/Phd" type of videos. Otherwise, your video is really inspiring.

Charlotte, in a neuroscientist perspective do you think it's better for a person to accomplish easier goals and then move forward to most difficult activities or is it better to tackle the hardest things before doing what's easier?

are you ever going to visit Lex on his podcast? also I'd love to listen to you talk to Joscha Bach, it would no doubt be a lovely conversation

Hello Charlotte. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. I am a mental health nursing student in the UK. I would love to study more nueroscience and in particular a focus on its application to health and disease. Any books or tips for me. Also I am intending on studying a Msc in Dementia. So it's these areas that interest me.

As a newbie to computational biology in general, this video was super helpful. Thanks, Charlotte! Also, I wanted to know where that graphic at 9:44 is from
