Study neuroscience or thinking about here? Here is what I wish I'd known!

I have been studying the brain for 8.5 years. I did my undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and although I loved it, there was a lot I didn't expect! In this video, I share these things with the hope they give you a better a picture of what it is really like to study neuroscience.

Im a Psych B/S major and im considering switching into neuroscience instead of just getting a minor in it. I love anatomy and biology, and I feel like psych just doesn't have enough. Im in my first semester of my sophomore year and I'm going to finalize soon. Your videos are so helpful and bc of them I may actually take the leap and go into neuroscience

I am so happy to hear that it is more essay based because I love love love writing essays especially about any knowledge behind something I am extremely interested in. I have a very good feeling for when I head off to university! Thanks for the tips I am very thankful :)

Hiii, i`m from Brazil, actually I'm a biomedical research (biomedicine) graduate student. I met you through Instagram and I just want to thank u for inspiring me so much to study neuroscience, molecular biology, genetics and so much more.!!! love you

This is sooo good and informative!!! Thank you!! Gives me less anxiety about next year in uni! If you could share how you organise your reading papers that would be so useful thank you

Thank you for your video! 😊I would like to do a master's degree in neuroscience, and I do now a bachelor in biology (a ''licence'' in France). I will doing this yeah an internship in neuroscience, and I also think we don't work a lot in the lab in comparison to other field of biology, i will just doing some behavioral studies.

This was a really fantastic video, thank you. I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind talking more about essay-based exams in another video, please? I'm terrified of those types of exams and generally still experience brain freeze and don't know what to write, but also don't quite know how to prepare in the way you eventually learned to. I find that I spend way too much time thinking of the best way to phrase things, such that not much actually gets written down. Thanks a lot :)

Omg, thank you!!! I've not expected this much from neuroscience, but it's okay for us nerds🤓 I'd like to see your thoughts about how to prepare for undergrad neuroscience, I want to get some extracurriculars for my university application, but still don't know what to do exactly.

I'm pursuing my Ph.D. in India...Environment science and first year here is coursework and the main work actually starts at a later stage

I'm a high school student going into sixth form next year! You have massively inspired me to see through this concept of neuroscience. If I want to peruse the major, which A level subjects do you think would prepare me or gives me a higher chance to be accepted into this course?

Hi!! I also killed not one but 3 tadpoles when doing locomotor practical (we had to cut midbrain from the forebrain) and I thought it’s just me and my shaky hands but it made me feel soo good you actually did it as well. Also I’m obsessed with your channel btw!

Amazing channel! I love how you are explaining everything and how good and detailed are your tips and information. I'm in my foundation year studying Criminology and Psychology and I'm also fascinated by neuroscience and started to teach-myself at least the basics. I was wondering if there is a chance to keep up and be admitted for a Masters degree or even PhD evevn though I'm studying something different? (if, of course, during my undergrad I will take extra courses on the modules required for a neuroscience undergrad and doing parallel research). You are wonderful!🤗 Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I'm studying psychology for my graduation course and I'm not sure if i can pursue neuroscience later on, many unis accept psychology graduates for MSc neuroscience but I'm not sure if it's a good idea. I feel like I'll know a lot less than people who graduated in neuroscience and it scares me a little :(

Ok so i did BSC biotechnology and now planning on pursuing Master’s in Neuroscience…Is it worth it? or should i stick to biotechnology?

are there neuro subtypes that don't require chemistry? I am good at everything but chemistry, chemistry has been the bane of my existence no matter how much I try to conquer it *sobs*

Do you get to do much lab work when you're practicing as a neuroscientist? With body fluids? Or is it mainly imaging? I am super into lab work, and after doing lots of investigation and feeling like maybe there isn't enough lab work to keep me happy...

this is so great! thank you! I'm interested in studying psychopathy where it overlaps in neuroscience. Would you think I should get a psychology degree first or biology? or a specialized program? (if those exist...)

Does it pay well?
Is there demand for it?
Can you travel with it?
Do you need maths?
