HOW A PROFESSIONAL REALLY FIXES YOUR SURFBOARD

In todays adventure we tackle a crease on a morally questionable but functional surfboard, make fin of bigger Youtubers than ourselves and shamelessly plug our own products!

--------------------------------------------

You'll get first look at new videos before they go public and we can go over your own repairs through that page as well.

There are always members only videos being posted up on youtube too which only you members will have access to.

There was another part to this video I've just realised, but it got deleted while editing and I couldn't remember what it was so I left it out. I just remembered though!
If you look up the Superfish now, you'll see they are up to number 4! How techy must number 4 be if this, number 2 was made with all these crazy materials and processes? Well, it's a PU blank, single wooden stringer, poly foam... With a swallow tail.
Interesting to see boards like this evolving into the same construction type as Geryy Lopez was churning out in the 70's!
Thanks for watching!

thanks for the hint about doubling up the resin on the rails to lessen risk of cloth sand-through!

"I wasn't really able to blend it..."
And the paint job is just wonderful. As usual. Bravo!

Great video as always !
I was wondering : would it be possible one day to tell us the essential tools we'd have to buy to start repairing our own boards ? Like a starter kit for once or twice a year repairs ? (Powertools, Pads, sandpapers... ?)

Amazing work
Quick question, what is the purpose of storing the boards on their nose ?

Nice vid and great repair man! 7S seems like a specialty in NZ as I remember I ve seen them quite often in shops everywhere:) But yeah, we have same shit like that - NSP pretty common here in Europe. On the other hand, I must say I had same issues repairing Slater design board or some fckn Firewire surfboards as well, as all were made out of very low density eps... as EPS/Epoxy only - surfboard builder I am honestly very alergic to those asia pop out shites (nevermind if global surf ind. or firewire etc), as they cast a bad light on EPS/Epoxy boards:) and those shites can't be comparable to quality builded eps/epoxy board made out of quality materials... anyway, looking forward to the next video, it is my "pleasure and learning" time in the night when our little one finaly falls asleep and I have a bit of a time for myself. So thank you heaps for your channel! It also brought me to a point that I started to like doing repairs more then before, even though it slows me down with custom builds :D With the fish topic, I must say you nailed it. For me, if a surfer wants to get the real fishy experience the board should not be longer then 6ft for sure and with the 6ft I concider a person which is pretty tall and heavy... On the other hand I built few mid fishes in 6.6 and those boards surf great. But of course, it is more midlenght surfing uncomparable with a short fish. There are loads of shapers here in Europe, but if you are after more alternative stuff, I would recommend to check out instagram of my mate in Ireland Elvis - booglerize surfboards. As Czech republic wise, we had some garage builders in the past, but most of them are not active anymore. From what I know, we are only two now who builds surfboards regulerly (fckn weird as we are as landlocked as possible right? hahaha). But check out also Liam, south african guy who lives here in Prague and builds boards under Chapter surfcraft, the me as Apatyka surfboards of course:-D and then in there were Demon Surfboards in Slovakia, but they were specialised more on river and wake surfboards. Btw. river surfing started to be very popular in Czech as we have a pretty good river wave right in Prague on Vltava river.. check out Vlny Stvanice. Not the same as surfing ocean waves surely, but heaps of fun though... sorry for a loooong comment :) cheers man.

As someone who does 90% of repairs in epoxy, this makes me really happy 😂

Stellar job as always, but the news that fish boards can't be over 6'4" was tough to hear. My summer cruiser "big boy
fish" is hoo

I don’t know any local shapers but I did meet Mark Richards about 11 to 12 years ago. He’s a lot closer to you.
