As far as we know, scoliosis can not be fully corrected, as much as people tend to say they are getting their scoliosis corrected, fixed, or cured. What is done is managing the scoliosis by reducing it with conservative methods.

The traditional approach is not proactive, and the recommendation is always to "watch and wait". During this time, the scoliosis can progress, and patients are likely to require more invasive treatment.

The more proactive patients are about managing their scoliosis, the less likely they are to need surgery, and the benefits of chiropractic care generally outweigh surgery.

When scoliosis is moderate, the watch and wait approach is preferred. Sometimes traditional bracing is also used. Only when it reaches 40 degrees or more action is taken, and that is usually spinal fusion surgery. Doctors wait so long because at that level, the risk of scoliosis starts to outweigh the risks of surgery, and now they are willing to risk this invasive treatment.

Some of the risks of spinal fusion are:
-Infection
-Poor healing
-Rejection of the rods
-Bleeding
-Blod clots
-Limited flexibility
-Long recovery time
-Possible future surgery
-Failed hardware
-Fusion extension surgery

Dealing with your scoliosis proactively with a conservative approach is preferred to dealing with invasive surgery and all its risks.

This approach not only deals with the pain, if there is any, it also addresses the structural problem of scoliosis. A successful conservative approach is multimodal. It combines exercises, rehabilitation, chiropractic care, corrective bracing, vibration, and lots of other therapies to get the benefits of each one to manage better and reduce the patient's scoliosis.

The proactive management prevents scoliosis from snowballing and progressing into adolescence or snowballing into adulthood, as it happens because of the effect of gravity over time in the spine.

When looking at scoliosis management, we know we can't fix or cure it no matter what options you choose, but the more you manage your scoliosis, the fewer issues you are to experience with it later in life.

If patients choose to manage scoliosis with chiropractic care, therapy, bracing, and other rehabilitation techniques used in the conservative proactive approach, the spine will maintain its use and normal function.

Once you fuse the spine, it will be straight, but it loses its function since it can no longer move. The traditional approach leads to surgery. The conservative approach, being proactive, helps keep the curve down addresses the progression, and patients do not need to deal with the risks of surgery.

I had a mild scoliosis as a teen, was in the”watch &wait” team. Now, at 68, I forced through a new xray: 43 degrees . So grateful for this wise words ❤. I am active now in the Swedish scoliosis association pushing for more of exactly what you describe. Thank you.

Hi, i'm french ( sorry for my bad english) i'm 44 years old, and i suffer from kyphoscoliosis ( slight ) since i'm 15 years old ... I work to fix my scoliosis since 1 year. For sever scoliosis, i can't say nothing, but for slight scoliosis, i'm nearly sure it's possible to fix it totally, even if you are more than 40 years old ... I use vertebrae decompression, movement ( improved spinal waves for example like Ido Portal do, but improved for scoliosis ), deep massage, fasciatherapie ... and i'm very happy in 1 year i have a spine more flexible and strength :) i think i need 3 or 4 more years to fix it totally ... I work a lot to increase the mobility of the rib cage and to replace the vertebrae aphophyse. This seem very efficient for me :) Hope this help other people ...

Love it! There is no fixing scoliosis, but it is possible to slow or to stop the progression with good PT and a motivated/compliant patient.

I’m 30 and sick of my “minor scoliosis” chronic discomfort and difficulties keeping symmetry during exercises like pull-ups etc. I’m going to eliminate it if it’s the last thing I do. I’m so sick of doctors telling me I don’t need to do anything. Yoga always helped with my pain and I think is why it hasn’t progressed. What a load of BS from traditional medicine, thank you for speaking common sense. I’ve known about this problem since age 12, and was always told to ignore it by doctors… didn’t start trying to correct it till 21. If I had addressed it in my youth I probably wouldn’t have this problem. I’m not going to let this get any worse.

Dear Dr. TONY,
Yesterday I went to the orthopedic surgeon’s and had X-ray done right there. I have had other X-rays and MRI I have been to a group the last 2 1/2 years dealing with my pain. I have had plenty of steroids and injections and ablations etc. for pain only. According to the Orthopedic Doctor there is nothing that is going to correct my degenerative disc except surgery along with cleaning up stenosis. He said nothing about the scoliosis as far as surgery. I now I have more of an understanding of why I have pain. But as you said there are many risks and it’s a lot to go through. And he said the results are approximately 50 %. BUT
With possibly 50% other problems for just having the surgery. When I saw my scoliosis X ray I was shocked !
Plus L4/5 degenerative. Osteoporosis is now osteopenia. I’m really afraid of surgery. But I was really upset and worried, but I am taking a different approach today . I do believe I can or anyone can heal their body through movement and diet and thought / 7:00 meditation so this morning that is where I am at. Time to heal my spine as best as I can. He said it’s all related to age. I’m 71 in 2 days.
I was low in Vitamin D so that’s better, but I have severe scoliosis and this degenerative disc. I am going to see how it goes and work on trying to heal .
I appreciate Your honesty. The spine should be flexible. ❤

I'm not in the US:
My upper curve is sloping away from my heart so it's convex on the right and concave on the left (AKA dextroscoliosis). My lower curve is sloping to the left (AKA levoscoliosis). My upper curve looks extremely mild but my lower curve is a lot bigger.

Hello, I'm so glad I've found your channel and found out that there actually exists an alternative treatment for scoliosis and that the degree of the scoliosis angle can actually be rediced!!
Is there any possibility for finding or receiving such treatment in Romania, or do you perhaps only have such centers in the USA?
My sister really needs such treatments and many other children and adults in Romania and all over the world.
Is there perhaps any way to access your treatment from Romania and what would be the costs involved?
I'm asking because I need to work really really hard in order to save up money, maybe even years as most salaries are very low here so I need to know the sum in advance in order to prepare for it little by little acvording to my own humble possibilities.

In my early 20’s I was diagnosed with very mild scoliosis. “ Not anything to worry about”. Now, at age 65 I have been diagnosed with rotoscoliosis ( I had never even heard of this before). Plus, have cervical stenosis, flat back- all lumbar, sacral joints have collapsed. Treatment: flat back is fusion of involved disc, spine area. Rotoscoliosis treatment? Screwing and pinning. Cervical stenosis with multiple symptoms of nervous system treatment? Fusion. So. I am trying to find my alternative options for each and or all. Meanwhile I have EDs, which makes my connective tissue loose, and I have Mast Cell- think super allergies to about everything. The idea that is I would have any quality of life after these “ treatments “ is a joke. So for now, I will keep on living on, trying my best to find viable options.
