I have scoliosis and I do weightlifting as a sport. I really love doing weightlifting. When i practice i don't feel any pain. But when i study sitting in same position for long period i feel pain. I'm scared to get surgery because i'm afraid that i will not be able to do weightlifting again.

I had my surgery done at 14 years old. a year prior I was in a car accident which resulted in me getting whiplash even though I had my seatbelt on. my spine was curved at 52% and now it’s at 11%. I did not grow an inch I’m still the same as I was when I was 13. I am now 43 years old and I have severe arthritis in my lower back.

I had a 20 degrees like a few months ago and 2 specialists told me that it wouldn't get worse, I just found out it's at 42 now. It's been less than a year. I'm scared

Update: the doctors that told me it got worse messed up bad apparently. It actually got better. It's at 18. I'm good😌 the anxiety I got from this tho omg. I had rashes all over me because of anxiety hives. I went to a surgeon guy bc I wasn't eligible for a brace or something bc I stopped growing. He said it didn't get worse, but it switched sides? So it was on the left but it switched to the right? Which is weird, but they're not gonna do anything.

Is there a scoliosis surgery where you don’t put this metal thing in your spine? Is that even possible?

The rods say they last up to 20 years. What happens after the 20 years?
