Your book turns out to be a goldmine. (Not that I am surprised about that 😆.) I prepared this sauce today in order to use it on Monday when I have a guest. Today I just cooked jacket potatoes but the combination with the Chili Crisp was fantastic. On Monday I will combine it with the crispy smashed potatoes from your book that I have already tried with other dips. When preparing the Chili Crisp I was worried about the amount of chili that I had to put into the bowl so I used more of the lighter gochugaru and less of the hotter sechuan chili. But this wasn't necessary so I added some hot chili afterwards 🙃

I got your book for Christmas and this was the first recipe I wanted to make! I didn’t have everything like fresh ginger or Szechuan pepper flakes so I used a teaspoon of ginger powder and I doubled the gochugaro pepper flakes and added Cayenne pepper for heat. I left out the sugar since I don’t like sweetness in my chili, This was absolutely amazing! I just wanna put it on everything!

I've used gochugaru flakes in place of Sichuan chili flakes and that comes out so good too! Smoky and almost sweet

In Mexico we have something similar called salsa macha. You can literally put it on anything! good love love chili oil ❤

I, almost overnight, developed a complete intolerance to spice. It's crazy! I'm going to try to make this recipe, minus the chili, so it'll be like a garlic crisp. Haha. It looks great!
