The first teaser trailer for Joker: Folie à Deux was recently released and became the highest-viewed trailer in its first 24 hours for Warner Bros. since the smash hit Barbie. Joker was a runaway hit for DC in 2019, earning over $1 billion at the box office and becoming the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time. Joaquin Phoenix won an Oscar for his performance as the titular character and returns for Joker: Folie à Deux alongside Lady Gaga as a completely new take on Harley Quinn.

There's no way to know if Joker: Folie à Deux will reach the same critical and financial heights as its predecessor, but the movie's first teaser trailer certainly bodes well. If the musical aspects are well executed like they were in the first movie, Joker: Folie À Deux could become another massive success for DC and Warner Bros. After a string of box office disappointments for DC, this would be huge for the comic giant's cinematic reputation.

It's the origin story of the Jokers.

As in the gang that follows Joker in every Batman show / movie. It never made sense why they were there or did what they did. Until Joker.

I hope we'll see the bullies from the first movie again. I'm not talking about the three on the subway, but about the ones at the beginning. The ones who stole him the billboard. Do you know why? Because then they were never seen again. Arthur never took revenge. If they had seen what it had become and been shocked by it, it would have been quite satisfying. This thing annoys me a lot.

If this is actually the real trailer, I just dont get it at all. The buildup to Joker becoming his character in the first movie was excellent. An excellent showcase of what it's like to be a loner with severe mental issues developing into a fully psychotic villain...made for a great first flick. But this second one appears to be really playing itself off as a romance flick. WTF? Definitely NOT SOLD on this one. Hard pass for me.

I had high hopes for this, but Harley’s backstory looks like it’s going to be completely different from what’s already canon. I’m excited for Gaga’s Harley Quinn, but it looks like she’s playing someone completely different from Harley. Harley is supposed to be Jokers therapist, slowly driven mad because of her love for him. She’s not supposed to be a patient. So I’m kinda disappointed cause her entire backstory was just scrapped for this movie. There was hope and now i’ve lost it. 😢

I loved the first movie and if we get a healthy relationship between joker and Harley like I've wanted for years I will be happy I don't care how bad the rest of the movie is if we get a joker who genuinely loves Harley and treats her with respect and love I will be happy

After seeing what Gaga could do as the Countess in American Horror Story, I look forward to seeing her as Harley.. Robbie did a fantastic job, I absolutely loved her, but there was something missing, something small but influential, I think Gaga has it
