Omg, thank you!! Fought this for 4 hours and I've got a networking degree. This obscure windows feature fixed my connectivity issue. I cannot thank you enough. No idea why this is disabled by default!

In addition to following these steps, what worked for me (because the issue has happened again) was going to Settings > Network & Internet > Status, go to Network reset and on the next window click the "Reset now" button and wait 5 minutes (because it's doing the reset) and then it'll automatically restart. When you log back in, you'll get a notification saying "Do you want your PC to be accessed by other computers?", click Yes for that. Your PC should now be shared. Do this only on the PC that can't be seen.

i am not a bot or anything just a desperate human searching for answers and damn man thank you for this tutorial/solution video, cant believe it actually worked. i did everything as the video showcased and i don't if the first method with service>function discovery providerhost was essential or not but that one didn't work. it didn't show the shared computer so the second method "turn on window feature> SMB1.0>tick the box, now this method actually showed all the pcs in my network and was able to connect with a shared printer.

In "Services" I had to right-click and restart "Function Discovery Provider Host". That worked for me. Thanks for the video.

My windows 10 server machine can't see it's own computer name in network folder and the service that runs it is running but still didn't show untill I restart the service you told me to start and it fixed; thanks man. This really helps!

The Function discovery service was running already so I restarted it and suddenly my showed up on the network. I did the same on my sons pc and they both work now. Thank you so much
