What gives me chills is that you can faintly hear a scream when Odysseus says “all I hear are screams.”

I think my favorite part of Epic is the constant call back. Whether to the motifs in the instruments, certain sections, and certain lyrics. It ties it all together and it makes listening to all the songs really fun

I love the concept of how while Odysseus is traveling to the underworld, they’re sailing under the ocean where his men died and souls still lay. It seems like they’re forever unable to rest without a proper burial so they can’t go to the underworld with him, only beg asking Odysseus why he couldn’t give them mercy too.

The callback to Ruthlessness with the crew crying out "Captain" is so delicious! I remember hearing that part of thinking how dirty it was in a good way.

The visual of everyone Odysseus has lost on the journey back home in a sea floating above them is just hauntingly wonderful

I love all the callbacks to earlier song and that boat looks amazing!

Love that we can't see or hear polites when the men tell oddysseus he shouldn't have let the cyclops live, because polites greeted the world with open arms and was merciful.

I dont think it was done that way on porpuse but if it was thats so cool

I LOVE the crunchy minor notes! They add a sort of haunting

What makes it hit harder, is if you think that the only the men on the ship with ody were with him during the cyclops fight. Ie the other ships that were lost none of them were there, at the fight. Only those on the current ship. So yeah some of those men are gone, but most of his fleet were innocnent in that matter and still had to pay the price.
