Some life-changing tips:

1. Body Dysmorphia doesn’t go away just because you lose weight. You need to accept your body where it’s at and improve from there. You may even look objectively closer to your goal look yet feel further away. This is more than normal.

2. Focus on how you feel. Usually people who are shredded have either made it 90% of their life and/or feel horrible mentally or even physically. No shade to these people, just understand they even if you have the money, genes, and drive to get there, it’s not always what it seems.

3. Progress is not linear. Progressive overload is key, but you will inevitably hit plateaus and setbacks that sometimes seem to come out of nowhere. Be consistent but don’t fear trying something new if this happens to you often, and don’t shy away from professional help.

4. Water weight can make you look like u have more body fat than you do—but it comes and goes naturally and easily.

5. A healthy body fat percentage is in the 30-16% for women. This is a huge range especially when you consider that the lower your body fat percentage is, the harder it can be to maintain. Under 30% is doable without going to extremes. If your bmi classifies you as ‘overweight’ but you are active, you are most likely healthier than someone in that bmi range who isn’t active.

6. Harder isn’t always better. Getting into the nuances is too much to type, but at the very least, understand that you aren’t always going to make progress by adding more.

7. No one cares about what u look like as much as or more than you. comparison is a thief of joy.

I hope u be well.

I literally did not start losing the baby weight until i stopped researching everything. I didnt need the "best workout for a small waist" or "the best workouts to get rid of mom bod" i just needed to get off the couch and the workouts that i was finding sounded absolutely terrible so i just wouldnt do anything. I decided that working out in the best way doesnt matter at ALL. I just started to move my body every day SOMEHOW. I started letting myself experiment with whatever. I fell in love with dancing even tho im bad at it. It was embarrassing at first. the first time my husband caught me busting a move, i thought i would die. I got over it when i realized i would miss it if i stopped. I looked forward to my workout. Suddenly i started losing weight cuz i was just finding time all the time to dance. Doing dishes (i broke a cup cuz i got so into the moves that i forgot i was also covered in soap), with my daughter, when i was frustrated, with the broom, a full hour offical workout while my daughter slept. I also started enjoying other duties more.

You will set yourself free if you find a way to move your body that you enjoy. It take soooo much pressure off. You dont need to do 3000k burpees to be fit. Or a 5 minute plank. It really REALLY is about moving your body. You can do those things but you really dont have to ❤️

Simply walking more is such a great starting point. I used to just take my dogs to the park so they can run around for an hour and we would go on small walks. But then I decided that I needed to move my body more so we started going on longer walks. then it progressed to jogging a little bit during our walks and now we can crush a ten mile walk/jog and halfway through we will stop at the dog park so they can run around and I can do a little workout. Just start out with small baby steps and naturally you’ll be able to and want to do more.

I believe in tiny consistent steps. Like, just drinking more water, adding a daily portion of vegetables, walking for a couple minutes everyday... I think it's better to work towards healthy habits.

I'm 5 mo nths post partum-
I was fit before pregnancy and during pregnancy and worked out 4-5 days a week and I STILL gained 62 pounds. I've lost 53 pounds. But my stomach isn't the same as it once was and it can be really hard not to compare myself to others when I have so many fit influences flooding my screen with their fit bodies. It's incredibley sad how I can be so hard on myself after growing a human.
:(
I eat balanced, workout 5 days a week and I am still somewhat squishy.
I need content like this to remember to just be thankful for what I have accomplished and for just being able to move my body!

I love the “just move your body” thought. When I don’t feel like strapping in for a “real” workout I just tell myself something is better than nothing and do hip bridges or squats. Sometimes only a few. In front of the tv. Just do something.
