Wide collars like that one are designed to actually be better for a dog's throat and neck it spreads the pressure out over a bigger area so it's less harsh than the thinner or traditional collars

I have a dog of similar size but different breed. She's nearly fifteen. I bought a wide collar like that in bright pink and she pranced like a princess. Four days later the neighbor's pitty broke loose and attacked her in her own yard. He went for the throat shaking and twisting as they do. Though wet with slobber her throat was uninjured. The collar had to be replaced but it saved her life.

This collar looks fine comfortable and its a good warning so no one gets hurt. But that hater is the same person to train with choke collars or say “dogs shouldn’t be on leashes or have collars on!” Even though its for the dogs safety and safety of other animals and people.

Great collar. I use the same one on my Malinois. The handle allows me to also use as an agitation collar along with his bite work harness
