I think this is totally on point about the prequels, but it also has fun with the source material as well, which is woefully absent in some elements of Star Trek.

Saying SNW is the Better Call Saul of the Star Trek universe is way too generous. Look I don't mind the show but based on the content in this series it technically establishes itself in a different universe to the original prime timeline. Akiva Goldsmen said they would be playing with Canon. So for all we know Pike could escape his fate, Spock could become president of the federation and Uhura could retire and work as a restaurant owner. All I'm saying is this show is not a prequel. This feels more like a reboot if anything. Nothing wrong with that it's just it's definitely a 21st century interpretation of Star Trek that's for sure.

I personally wouldn’t mind a reboot of TOS. I’m making my way through TOS for the first time ever right now (as a 23 year old man), and even though a lot of the episodes stories are great, some of it is down right hard to watch. It’s extremely dated and I think it would be awesome to revisit some of these old stories for a new generation of fans. Discovery and SNW is essentially a new Timeline anyways (as theres a lot of plot holes with TOS) so why not fully embrace that route.

I got to binge watch the first two seasons this week as i have been a little under the weather and idk how more people arent talking about this show... its truly entertaining and you dont know what youll get week to week. Musicals, monsters, cartoons crossovers, dark Deep Space Nine vibes. Its honestly excellent. 9/10

I truly LOVE Strange New Worlds!! The series truly took me back to The Next Generation era. I love Discovery but most times the episodes were just too intense and anxiety-inducing for me, while Strange New Worlds felt more easy and the characters are loveable.
