The gut microbiome is wildly different for someone eating a ton of meat and someone eating a plant-based diet.

Dr. Will Bulsiewicz, gastroenterologist and bestselling author of Fiber Fueled, takes you inside the gut to contrast the unmistakable differences in gut bacteria between two diets. The variations could have a mammoth impact on your health with both short- and long-term effects.

Dr. Bulsiewicz joins "The Weight Loss Champion" Chuck Carroll to help determine what the healthiest diet is for you on The Exam Room LIVE!

Do you have a question? Post it in the comments or chat, and we’ll answer as many as possible during the broadcast.

Since going Vegan 8 months ago, I have dramatically improved my gut microbiome and my inflammation markers have dropped in half! My lupus is in remission, I've lost 40 more pounds and have plenty of energy! I'm going back to school to be a health and wellness coach as we speak. Thank you Chuck, Dr B, and PCRM 💖

Have been following Will's dietary recommendations for over a year. Dramatic improvement in my IBS, fitness, sleep and energy. I just pack in the fiber everyday. I was vegan for many years prior but was still experiencing digestive issues.

I have bought Dr. B's two books and I love them. Surprised to find that no public libraries here in Hong Kong has copies of them. I then made a request to the library and finall they got them.

I get my omega-3’s from the same source as the fish: spirulina/algae.

A few yrs ago i also read that in addition to clearing infections antobiotics also act as growth stimulations, hence why they give them to chickens.

I always thought fiber was soluble or insoluble. I had no idea there were potentially millions. Fascinating.

Also bland taste sentient buddy Chicken by cremini mushrooms & keep cooking ^^" 🧘‍♂🖖 Kindly: [Carcass Free Plate for almost Eleven Years & no mammary fluid either] 🙂

Can you please talk about IBS in people who follow a clean WFPB lifestyle? It is an irritant and uncomfortable and I cannot pinpoint the reason or the food. Some weeks I am very regular, other weeks I barely poo. I don't eat junk or treats or processed foods (apart from the odd falafel/hummus combo). I am also quite low on energy and for the past few months I don't sleep well or for very long. Incidentally, I have increased the starches but the pooping situation has not improved and I currently have a very big belly although I'm slim and not feeling comfortable about wearing jeans/fitted clothes, or going out. I feel fat even though I know it's just all the food in my gut. I'd appreciate your advice as I know I'm not the only one and I did used to poop regular as clock and I don't think my diet has changed in any way. I eat lots of plants, anything the food bank gives me I am super grateful for. Thank you and best wishes to Dr B, Chuck and all the community, you're amazing and so supportive.

Your diet gives your liver the necessary ingredients to make cholesterol. In reality, 100% of your cholesterol comes from building blocks in your diet, whether from cholesterol itself (20%) or sugars and fats (80%).
