The worst thing is, unlike tornado alley, you can’t have a basement in Florida. Most homes are built on concrete slabs, so even indoor rooms may not save you.

Wedge tornado is not like a funnel tornado. A wedge tornado is much wider than it is tall and can do a lot of damage. It can even not look like a tornado.

I’m in Bradenton zone b and my parents absolutely refused to evacuate. I had enough and packed up my fur babies and left for Gainesville this morning. My anxiety is through the roof for them and im surely not sleeping tonight

31 years old, lived my entire life in south Florida and up until today I had only seen 1 tornado in that span.
