We are Pat & Giulia, a couple from 🇬🇧 and 🇮🇹 living in London.

We decided to go travelling and ended up living getting stuck in Malaysia during 2020 which spurred the creation of this channel, we're now back on the road after a lengthy hiatus!

We're travel enthusiasts who enjoy discovering spots off the tourist trail and don’t like taking ourselves too seriously. We're not here to be vloggers or to be famous, we're not necessarily here to "inspire" anyone to travel either - just enjoy the spontaneous fun of it, weird situations and of course making local friends.

In terms of food, China is definitely good at making use of the gifts of nature. Because China has experienced hunger and poverty, it knows how to cherish nature.

My mom's a Buddhist, and when I was a kid, I used to go to the temple with her and eat vegetarian meals. The food was unforgettable and really tasty

Chinese Buddhists are also vegetarians. As long as you tell the boss at a restaurant that you don’t want non-vegetarian dishes and only eat vegetarian dishes, the boss will understand you and give you good recommendations. Just don't put meat in the dish. You have to declare it first and use your mobile phone to translate it for them.

I love it when guys make references to Malaysian food in your videos. Vegetarian food is ample in Malaysian and you can get enjoy them in various cuisines whether Asian or Western. You will find vegetarian menus in most non vegetarian restaurants.

Now that you are in Chengdu, it would be a pity to miss the giant pandas. You must see giant pandas once in your life. At the Chengdu Giant Panda Base, there are more than 200 giant pandas, a feast for the eyes. If you see giant pandas in the UK, you can only see 2. The base is huge and takes hours to look at. Giant pandas are most active from about 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.; from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., most pandas are sleeping.

It is true that temples in urban areas are generally a combination of commerce and religion, but the centers of Chinese Buddhism and Taoism are basically not in big cities, they are distributed near or on different famous mountains in China, and the most famous Buddhist holy place in Sichuan is Mount Emei.

don't worry about eating etiquette when in china 😂. only one rule, enjoy the food! talk loud at table, use hands, or dump as many things as you can on your plate, no worries 😉. that guy was probably just surprised to see you guys there or maybe just stunned by julia 😅. there are loads of vegetarian restaurants but yeah in and about temples are usually buffet style ones. you can just ask your hotel desk to help search for some using one of their restaurant apps.

Chengdu has a reputation of having a very "sleepy-city" vibe. Add on nature + good food, and it's one of my fav vacation spots.

The next time you are in KL, try the vegetarian stalls at Food Republic in the Pavillion Mall as well as at Midvalley Jusco foodcourt. Super delicious and affordable.

Many challenging foods that Chinese people cannot eat. Seeing that you enjoy spicy food, the acceptance rate is very high, which is amazing. Perhaps you can go to Lanzhou to taste the various noodles there, as well as Shanxi, which may be more in line with your taste.

Many temples provide vegetarian food to tourists, these are the best place for you. A lot of vegetarian food in china are not so “vegetarian” since they are using lard.
