In this video, Rhonda Patrick discusses:

• How long it takes for the body to clear BPA & phthalates
• Why exposure to PFAS should be mitigated because of its long half-life in the body
• If the body excretes micro- and nanoplastic particles
• Why sulforaphane could potentially enhance excretion of microplastic-associated chemicals
• If dietary fiber increases microplastic excretion
• If sweating (whether through exercise or sauna) helps detox microplastic chemicals
• Why excretion strategies are less effective for PFAS

Before the 80’s, the food was packed in glass or paper. We used lunch bags for produce and paper bags for groceries

Just as fyi -

The top five most common ways people are exposed to PFAS are:

1. Drinking contaminated water: PFAS can leach into groundwater and drinking water sources, particularly near manufacturing plants, military bases, or waste disposal sites where PFAS-containing products have been used.
2. Food packaging: PFAS are used in grease-resistant paper, fast food wrappers, microwave popcorn bags, and other packaging that prevents food from sticking.
3. Non-stick cookware: Older Teflon or other non-stick pans may contain PFAS, which can leach into food when the cookware is scratched or overheated.
4. Household products: PFAS are found in stain-resistant fabrics, water-repellent outdoor clothing, carpet treatments, and cleaning products.
5. Personal care products: Some cosmetics, including waterproof makeup, foundation, and shaving cream, contain PFAS to improve durability and spreadability.

How to mitigate risk and exposure:

1. Filter your drinking water:

• Best bang for your buck: Install a home water filter that is certified to remove PFAS, such as reverse osmosis or activated carbon filters. These can significantly reduce your exposure if your water supply is contaminated.
• Cost-effective options: Pitcher filters with activated carbon can help, but whole-home systems or under-sink reverse osmosis systems are more effective for continuous use.

2. Limit consumption of fast food and packaged foods:

• Fast food wrappers and other packaging materials are often treated with PFAS. Opt for fresh or homemade foods that don’t rely on these wrappers.

3. Avoid non-stick cookware:

• Switch to alternatives like cast iron, stainless steel, or ceramic cookware, which don’t contain PFAS. Avoid using scratched or old non-stick pans that could release PFAS during cooking.

4. Be mindful of household products:

• Choose furniture, carpets, and clothing labeled as PFAS-free or avoid items marketed as stain-resistant or waterproof. These items often contain PFAS-based treatments.

5. Check personal care products:

• Avoid cosmetics and personal care products that list “fluoro” or “perfluoro” ingredients on their labels. This is especially important for waterproof or long-lasting products that are more likely to contain PFAS.

Best overall strategy (bang for your buck): Filtering your water is probably the most effective single action you can take because water can be a significant source of PFAS exposure if it’s contaminated. Pairing this with avoiding fast food packaging and switching out non-stick cookware offers a powerful, combined approach to lowering your overall PFAS exposure without dramatically changing your lifestyle.

If you read book called The 23 Former Doctor Truths by Lauren Clark you would understand exactly what is she talking about here. Mordern industry kills us quietly. You need to get rid of your bad routines…

Also, all the plastic clothes we wear: polyester, nylon, acrylic, etc ... all sitting right on our skin! Plastic clothes have a low/sickly frequency. Wear natural clothing like hemp, organic cotton, linen or wool. Linen & wool have a frequency of 5, 000 Hz and it's healing!

My son had the highest amount of PFAS in his blood of any child in the United States that we know of. Nothing but time can help to get this out of his body. He started with 484, 000 ppt and now is at about 175, 000 since stopping exposure in 2017. I want to point out SOME PFAS have a 2 to 5 year half life but there are literally thousands of different chains and some may take longer than that. Thank you for making this video, very informative over all.

The FDA should be doing something about plastic food packaging.

Hemp can do two things for us, first hemp plants absorb and break down toxins in the soil including plastics and pesticides, second non toxic bio degradable plastic can be made out of hemp. We need to plant hemp everywhere. Around all lakes and rivers, around all dumps, waste facilities, factories, farm land ect. This is the key to healing all of the damage caused by plastic and all of the toxic chemicals contaminating the environment. We need to ban the manufacturing of all plastics and replace it with hemp plastic as soon as possible. We need to force the government to implement something like a two year plan where we mass plant hemp all across the country and then use that hemp to replace conventional plastics over the next 2-5 years. We need to take the money they are wasting on wars and all of that crap and use it to subsidize the hemp industry in the United States. Growing hemp doesn’t require the use of any pesticides and also growing it on our farm land will heal the damage and contamination caused by decades of pesticide spraying on the land. This is the key and we seriously need to take action today!!!

For a while now I discarded any kind of plastic from my kitchen, all nonstick pans and pots and I never bought anything packaged in plastic or aluminum. I buy loose vegetables and meat and I cook my own food. Never used plastic plates or plastic cups or bottled water. I replaced the plastic containers with glass jars and glass bowls. Trying to be good.

rare to find a clinical toxicologist who offers such comprehensive and practical information; long term fasting is the most effective way to clean house; to clear heavy metals consider edta (avail in suppository form); to learn detox effectively i advocate locating a clinical toxicologist experienced in these modalities to cover all the bases and ensure potential risks dont outweigh the benefits. i am very impressed with your knowledge and ability to share it; very well done

Next actions to detox plastics:

- Sulphoraphane (broccoli sprouts 100x more than broccoli)
- Dietary fibre (increased excretion of microplastics)
- Sweating - consistent sweating (from sauna and exercise)

One major solution being ignored is to replace plastics into something more viable and natural and not made through chemicals that turn into microplastics that stay affecting the body and its development.
Natural material is in nature. Hemp is one and even bamboo can be made as well also even sea plants or more. Replace plastic packaging with something that doesn’t remain harmful to living organisms

Excellent report. Btw, besides dietary fiber, possible supplements to adsorb PFAS in the gut (thus minimize absorption into the blood) are humic acid, fulvic acid, activated charcoal, bentonite clay and algae. Once in the blood and the liver, evidence suggests that folate may be helpful for detox.

Flax seeds are good for cleaning the intestines. Flax seed oil and hemp seeds and oil is also a good choice or combine both
