RIP Athena, my very first dog. The shelter called her emaciated self a Shepherd cross. Looking back, obviously not the whole picture . I just knew I was in love when she immediately tore a branch off a bush in the meet-up area and brought it to me to be thrown. I ignored the fact that, when the branch was destroyed, she tore out and brought me a sprinkler head because she wasn't done. With training (for me, mostly) lots of love, time, exercise and engagement, one of the best dogs I've met in four decades of fostering, rescue, and adopting. If you are active, engaged, and willing to be trained, don't hesitate to adopt a Malinois or Malinois mix

I had a Belgian Malinois, Samboy, and he mated with German Shepherd in 1976 when I was 16yo, a country girl... The runt of the 15 pup litter chose me, I named him Blitz, aka, Blitzer... I was honored to love him 15.5 yrs. I trained them both, and a female GS I rescued from abuse and neglect, Sosa, aka, Sosie, in 2001, using a Military Tactical Dog Training book... All 3 of my beloved were highly intelligent, loyal, agile, athletic, lighting fast, loving and very protective...🦋
