I am 75 and only twice the weight of my malinois. I don't even come close to having the energy that he does but I have found ways to exercise him without over exercising myself. One of the great things about this breed is their intelligence. He knows his commands in English, German and hand signals. I spend 30 minutes a day reinforcing his commands split into 2 - 3 sessions. I can do most of it sitting in a chair. He loves playing frisbee which I have to do standing up but I switch it up on each throw from a low fast one where he has to quickly pivot to a high one that he has to jump to get. We do that twice a day for about 15 minutes. Once a day I water my gardens and he sits and waits until I am done and then I just wave the hose back and forth and he jumps and tries to catch the water while chasing it. Home Depot and Farm & Fleet are dog friendly stores and when I need to go there I bring him along so he can get used to different sounds and activities. Once a week I watch his toys and bedding and once they are dry he will take them one by one and bring them back to where he wants them. Sometimes we play find the toy where I put him in one room on a stay and then I walk around the house and hide his five stuffed animal toys and then command him to find them. He learned real quick to follow my fresh scent through the house and now can find all his toys in less than a minute. I have to leave him alone for a long period of time about once a week so the day before I will take him to the beach and throw his ball into the ocean so he can get some swimming in and Chase seagulls. This is a little more work for me because I have to bring fresh water to rinse the saltwater off him before I let him get back in the car but he's really low key and sleeps most of the next day while I'm gone. The whole point of this long post is that you don't have to expend that much energy yourself to give your malinois a lot of physical and mental exercise.

I am glad my Mal has mellowed a little with age. I can't keep up with him any more, but he seems to understand. We still play, walk, and spend lots of quality time, just not as fast as we used to. ❤

I rescued a 14month old Mali for my Border Collie to play with. I have since sold all my furniture & turned my living room & spare bedroom into a mini agility course which they use daily. 🤣 🐾🐾

They never stop moving.
They have the one to be the best dog you ever owned.
Except for that one thing.

The last one is common ALL dogs.
But, you might just have been describing my European Line Doberman. A big 104 lb intact male.

I honestly think there should be strict requirements in order to have one of these amazing creatures. Please don't get one and torture the animal by sticking it on a chain in the backyard. Don't get a dog, period if you don't care enough to consider the pup part of the family.

My neighbors have a beautiful Malinois. They got Riley at 6 weeks old to train her for the wife's health needs from the military. Riley does exceptionally well with..
She has a high perception of people. Was petting her and loved the attention until a neighbor came over; not a happy doggie.

I have a 3 month pure breed Malinois. He is stubborn as heck. Big scaredy cat, loves to bite my ankles if I don’t play with him and only wants to listen when food is on the menu 😂

Yes, vet visits are important, but this applies to every dog. I would go with "force Malinois to do something or punish them", that is (after abandoning them) probably the worst thing anyone can do. Otherwise I agree.
