I’m new to orchids and learning so much. My phalaenopsis lost the crown due to rot and then shot out a baby so I’m glad it did that. My crucifix orchid has two babies on the flower spike with healthy roots

I struggled with phals, my first ever orchids. I killed 5 over 8 yrs within mnths. I recently this yr have 2. Plenty leaves and root growth and even had a secondary spike! Less fuss is better btw! So now 1 has basal keiki! Thanks for the info and been watching you for 7 yrs Danny!

I will add, I have a hybrid noid phal and never had affected crown damage ever and she is 3 yrs old but like you stated, they can be stressed or happy and genetics play a role. I hope the keiki roots and I can plant it! Thanks for all you do and you are definitely an expert!

I’ve been waiting for this video! Got quite a few Keiki’s now from stem, basal and even one that’s growing next to what was an old terminal spike. Definitely love that I’ll have a lot of flowers from the baby and mother plant together 🥰 thanks Danny!

The flowershop orchid I recieved when I started my current job about 2 years ago had a termininal spike and produced a absal keiki last year. But I don't see any roots from the keikis base, so I keep both together, because the mother plant still seems to be okay. (no yellow leaves or rotten roots.

Because of your videos I bought some young phals from Schwerter and watch them grow (especially leaves and roots) for about 3 month now. I provided fresh bark or moss to give them the best conditions to keep them healthy. I hope they will be fine. Thank you, Danny, for sharing your passion and experiece with us. It helped a lot.

I've been wondering about separating keiki's and how to do it properly, so this video popped up just when I needed it - thanks, great info!

Super cool - my very first orchid grew a baby Keiki about 9 months after I got it ❤️

Excellent content - thank you! I have an Orchid that has presented 4 Keikis on the two flowering stems (no longer blooming). I have not used hormones. I’ll be watching more of your videos as I prepare to separate and propagate the Keikis and hope to encourage the recently reported mother Orchid to grow new flower stems. Thank you again.

Thank you so much for this video! I have an orchid that was gifted to me a little over a year ago. My very first one. This year when it bloomed a keiki formed near the top of the stem. I thought it was cool and had no idea what was happening or what it was called until your video. It has roots too. Now I know what to do with it. It’s nice to know I have another orchid!

Thank you I had a basal keiki grow and found out it was ok from you. Now I was afraid I needed to separate them but I don't and I want to keep them together. 😁

I had One Phalaenopsis Orchid, the top did get rot on the top, but apparently it wasn’t that bad, because now I have 2 brand new leaves! I’ve learned my lesson, if they get wet, they’re indoors, dry up that water immediately!!!!

I hope you’ll do a Video of the Miniature Orchids!!!

I loved the video! The only thing as that the middle number is for flowering and there are specific ones for Orchids. I use one balanced a bit like yours which lasts for three to five months, it depends on how often you water them and I offer them the one for flowering (high number in the middle) once a month, on the first weekend of each month.

Thank you for the video. I’ve been cutting roots in the green part. 😣😣 oops!

This is really helpful, thank you. Both my orchids had bugs and have grown baby plants. I didn't know what to do with them, but now I do.
I'm not sure how to tell if the mother plant is dead though, so I'll have a look through the videos.

I have one of each type of keikis. Both have long roots that I was able to stick in the medium, so I hope to keep both in the original pot with the mother plant.

Never had keiki on phal’s but definitely on Dendrobiums. I do have an interesting phal orchid I just purchased. It looks like two “heads on same body.” It’s two plants coming from the same base. Thought maybe two keikis but they’re the exact same sizes. Hopefully double the flowers.
