Using the INDIRECT function greatly simplifies finding the intersection of columns and rows. Use it instead of Index/Match.

Good video sir, I have successfully reproduced your example. I have an array of rows (areas 1000, 2000, 3 000 etc.) and columns are perimeters (150, 200, 250, 300 etc.) the data cells are a mix of ratios (example 1.321 and many with no values at all. I get the REF# error. Is it possible that the column and row headers are numbers or That certain cells are empty, this cannot work ?. Your help would be very much appreciated, Thank you from Canada.

Thanks a lot. Never seen a presentation on "indirect" function as simple as yours I recreated the table and it is fine, but unable to explain to myself how does it work. Can you please present two or three practical examples ?

Thank you. This has assisted me in creating a Risk Register! I just need to know how to colour the cell now matching the value.
