nice comparison! I hope is not to much of trouble to us/me some numbers like how much memory is available in parallel for an operating system. I tried garuda on 8GB ram machine and it was crashing.

{UPDATED} Virtual Box 7.0 is available with shaky stability for Windows 11 ARM on mac M1/M2. You can run a Windows 11 ARM with UTM and the go ahead an try Virtual Box. And YES Virtual Box are working on support for Windows 11 ARM running on apple silicon chips :))) hope this helps !

Another option that may be viable—UTM.

Wait... I thought that all Intel-based Mac apps could be used via Rosetta 2 but at the cost of some performance?
I've only used Oracle VirtualBox because Parallels has an on-going subscription cost of which I'm not a fan of.

The only thing besides compatibility issues that drives me nuts with the new Apple Silicon Macs (the current M1 series) is the fact that even tho' it's been rumored that 11.4 or was it 11.5 fixed the SSD swap memory issues, it clearly hasn't done that.

There was a video explaining how a certain app only consumes around 1GB of swap on an Intel-based Mac but uses around 10GB or more on Apple Silicon.
It wasn't just one or two apps, but it was tested on multiple pieces of software and all exhibited 10-20x SSD swap usage.
That is a huge huge problem seeing as that directly affects the lifespan of your machine.

Lots of people say that SSDs last way longer than people think which is true, but they do not take into account that what if the SSD degrading is around 10x more? Well then the lifespan estimations become radicly shorter. So if someone think that older Macs used to hold up around 5-7 years, that may not be the case for newer Macs at all but it may be way way less 3 years. Only time will tell since we don't have any Apple Silicon devices that would've been out for that long.
