I have an older one I was planning on doing this with. Safety first of course.

Funny it's still somewhat ok. My killer instinct exploded while cocking it back 😂 no dry fire needed

But it does the same thing if it's loaded. Dry firing a crossbow is fine. Dry firing a longbow is not a good idea
