You can tether Cricket phones for additional $10, except unlimited plan. For your usage Pro plan with 12GB of data may work. The problem with Cricket is they cap you speed to 8Mbps. Check out Tmobile One plan as well

When my adult son went on a tight budget he got a $12 hot spot and $15 (1 gb/mo. svc) Carried hot spot and an old iPhone in wifi mode in his pocket. Used free google phone (voip) service. =Smart phone and/or laptop data service all for $15!

Rusty, be careful with the Straight Talk CDMA assumption of Verizon being the provider it uses. Sprint is also CDMA and Straight Talk uses them also. Good luck.

No ATT HERE. AMAZING that you and I live in a parallel Universe! ! Would a straight talk phone work like that too ? I just went thru hell for 3 weeks with Comcast and Verizon. Just today. I finally have again internet and phone again.. Comcast won, I think. Maybe me in the end. Wear a hat to cover grey hair. UNREAL. We here have only 2 choices. I am exhausted.
