When the quest reward sucks - Reward

Ben has finally finished the quest and is ready to claim his reward

Plot Twist: The souls actually had no value and the chest itself was what was worth gold, the blacksmith simply scammed the adventurer

Almost expected when Ben was gone the blacksmith to throw the chest in the back of his tent, atop a pile of the same chests. XD

And this Ladies and Gentlemen, is why he became a mugger!!!

Now I understand why this particular adventurer became so bloodthirsty to most of the NPCs.

Imagine if a game dev out there actually makes a scenario like this in their game, long side quest, shown reward in the journal with lots of prizes, at the end of the quest only gives 1g or something

Blacksmith: give you 12 gold
Player: slaughters everyone in town then reload last save

And that is why you should skip all the dialogue!

Plot twist : the blacksmith guy actually able to get the souls back to the chest so the player just got scammed 😂😂

Between this and Tarkov, all of Rowan's characters are gradually merging into Manager Rowan... I wonder why that is....? 😅

This was actually a smart move on Bodgers part. Open the chest, release the souls and make the chest worthless so he doesn’t Have to buy it off the adventure. force the adventurer to give it to him, sell it at full price. The best part is, no one will be willing to check if the souls are inside.

Ben should have dropped the quest, picked it back up, and found the chest again. Would have been magically full of souls again!
