Honestly the vault dwellers would be the second closest thing to an American citizen (besides the enclave themselves) so I never understood why they would do this

The devs stated the opening to fallout 2 isn’t really cannon because they captured all the residents and just wanted to put the cutscene in because it goes so hard

The enclave actually kidnaps the vault dwellers in fallout 2, they only fire at them in the intro because the devs thought it looked cool.

And then Amata immediately yells at you for saving her

The Enclave in Fallout 3 were not trying to commit mass murder. They didn't know about President Eden's plan to poison the water. Not even Colonel Autumn knew about it. They were just trying to seize control of the purifier and use it to further their control of the wasteland.

I so wish we could meet Enclave in Fallout 4 and say something like "Son, I fought for your country long before your great great great grandfather learned to shoot" or something to it's branch's leader

Honestly the enclave in 2 were made to be cartoonishly evil at the upper level and absurdly human at the lower level. Really meshes well with them being a caricature of federal america, and thats not sarcasm. Indubitably!

you don't have to be born into the enclave. you can literally walk right up to Navarro and join. in fact in the two cutscenes where Frank Horigan kills someone, he gives them the option to join first. they even tried to recruit the brotherhood of steel.

Wouldn't people living in a vault away from radiation be the most pure people in the wasteland? They're like the closest thing to original American citizens. If the enclave were actually what they claimed to be they would protect vault dwellers. But I think by killing them the Enclave sets themselves up for the badguy role.

I have never seen that random encounter with Amata despite hundreds of hours in F3! I didn't even know it existed!

Weird thing is...Vault Tec is a subsidiary of West-Tek a military contractor that is directly owned by the enclave. I think the enclave is trying to take the vaults to create a secret new US underground and it possibly already exists in parts by the time we get to the story of fallout 3. Which might explain why there are even less remnants than you would expect to see.

If Bethesda made that intro for Fallout 2, the fans would crucify them.

The enclave has to be the evil guy so they have to do bad shit by default.

The thing I noticed on my last playthrough is that the water is more irradiated at raven rock HQ than at some random bathrooms in the wasteland, so either they don't have equipment to monitor the radioactivity of the water or they are a bunch of hypocrites.

Second time every time it’s the leaders who wanted that not the everyday troops and some generals look at autumn when he found out eden wanted to use the FEV he took control of the troops

Given the TV show’s revelations, maybe the Enclave had a bone to pick with Vault-Tec.
