It only took Nintendo almost 7 years to realize joy-con drift actually exists and is a huge issue for most users

My gamecube sticks lasted 10+ years before they died. Not because of drift, they just got loose because the plastic got worn down. Pretty easy to replace to.

"Hall effect? Nah let's make a new thing for no reason whatsoever"

Pretty sure Sega or a related company came up with a magnetic joystick back in the 90s for a Sega console or something.

Nintendo knew long ago about the drift but they ignored it because the sales on joycons are insane

Does anyone else remember the Switch Lite analoge sticks? They were perfect, just use whatever you did for that thing.

I have a controller like that already for my xbox, had it for a year and only play gun games, id say that they are extremely efficient

They’re taking notes from the PHOB GCC

The funny thing is is that the previous controllers didn't have this problem

Sega already made a fix with the 3d Saturn control pad back in 1996 to, the same year the N64 came out 27 years ago. Sega always did what Nintendon't.

Magnetic joysticks have existed since 1998 called hall-effect sensors, this new Nintendo joystick is certainly weird though.

Didn’t Sega solve this issue in the 90’s with the controllers for the Dreamcast
