Nintendo Will Fix Joy-Con Drift FOR FREE According to Report

Vice Gaming has insider info that suggests Nintendo will be fixing Joy-Con for free, even if they're out of warrantee.

I called Nintendo’s Customer Service this morning and yes I can confirm they do fix joycons for free (including shipping and handling).. they will charge you for any water damage or replacement parts but another good thing is that they give you a 100 day warranty In case you still have issues (they’ll send it back within 2-3 weeks).. I recommend anyone out there with joycon drifting like me to call Nintendo’s Customer Service and get your joycons fixed..

(UPDATE: I got my switch joycons this morning in the mail and they completely fixed the drifting! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU NINTENDO!!)

IT IS TRUE

Just filed a service request with Nintendo over the phone (7:30pm PST July 23) for three sets of malfunctioning joycon (3 left and 1 right). FREE REPAIR, overnight return shipping to me once repair is complete. No proof of purchase or warranty info needed/asked for. ZERO COST TO ME. They even let me send my three sets of joycon in two separate orders so I would not be without all my controllers at the same time. Estimated time of repair is two weeks.

I have found a fix for joycon drift. Pour rubbing alcohol under the analog stick. Just pour enough to create a small puddle in the depression under the stick. Then move the joy con's analog stick around vigorously. Alcohol doesn't harm electronics like water does.

This is not the case for the U.K.; I appreciate why you put a U.S.-spin on most things (it’s where the clicks come from), but you shouldn’t forget about the region you’re (presumably) based in.

I rang Nintendo U.K. this morning and their position is the same as before; so if you bought a Switch at launch and supported them from the offset, you’re still shortchanged.
