A great tip! No books tell you to use the pick at an angle to lower resistance over the strings. Just this week, using this idea. got a ukulele to play tremolo.

Thanks Baron. This might help with regards to strumming. I finally got to doing some work with it last night (just muting the strings and strumming to get the feel for it) and I was having a hell of a time with the pick getting caught in the strings. It might just be what you mentioned here and I wasn't holding the mandolin at a good angle
