I am in my 5th month with a new company after 15 years at my previous employer, the last five of which I felt very unfulfilled. Unmotivated and sad because of the constant bullying by micromanagers. My self-worth was in decline. Crying and feeling that miserable. I liked the job and the mission of the organization. However, due constant criticism and alienation, rarely took initiative anymore. Kept performing my tasks with quality but it never seemed to be good enough. Good salary and benefits but my mental health, mood, professional career and self-esteem was taking a toll. In the end, life is too short to keep feeling unfulfilled that way. Thanks to the grace of God I am now in a much better place and performing a much more fulfilling role. Took a lot of prayer and discernment. No regrets and no hard feelings. Good luck and God bless.

I was watching this right before my meeting and ended up crying. This was the most eye opening advice I’ve seen on the internet regarding this topic. Can’t wait to start on my inner work journey 🙌🏻

I love the approach to this answer because it’s unique to what career coaching typically advises. I hope people are open minded to this style because it’s worth listening to and putting into practice.
I myself have switched jobs every 1.5 years and it wasn’t until last year when I realized that me leaving jobs related to my habit of being negative and doing the same job I hated hoping next time I could just “transfer to another department” instead of sitting down and deciding for myself, what do I want to do?
I was directionless for a while which made everything 10x harder. That directionless came from growing up with a lack of guidance, which made it so much harder for me to realize what needed fixing in the first place. That internal work to find direction is so needed to get out of the nightmare of feeling like you’re living the same day everyday. Please keep making videos like this, Linda! ❤

That question could have been written by me. I needed to hear this so badly.

You know the message is quality when you wish you knew it sooner 😄

What you've described is the EXACT path I've been on for the past couple of years. It's humbling when you reflect on elements from your past that damaged your self worth. Knowing your value is fundamental towards building the life you want. We can't make lasting change until we tackle the core issues that weigh on us.

You have so beautifully answered the question. You could have made a video, answering the question at the surface level but you were caring enough to give the time and efforts to give a complete, whole answer to the question. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ respect to you ❤❤

Definitely needed to hear this. I’m currently in the same situation and writing this as I am working from home and have been feeling unfulfilled for years. I’m so ready to do the work and will take the time to reflect in those 6 steps.
Thanks so much for your content!

Excellent video! I'm glad you started with emotions. I am 57 and have had a horrible string of lame jobs, usually with A list employers. I looked back to see where I went wrong and I think it was because I didn't accept and coordinate(for lack of a better word) my emotions. I also didn't know how to ask for help or even a mentor because I was raised that my emotions, thoughts, and needs were a low priority.

I totally agree fulfulment may not comes from job. But finding yourself is tougher than anything else. I always ask myself what I want in life but i still dont have any answer to it.

Very useful, thank you! This to a large extent resonates with me. I have decided to find a job and quit (+ get out of the toxic environment, for me!).
I now have two offers and a couple of ongoing promising interviews. None of them fully meet the requirements of my dream job.
I'm trying to figure out if accepting one of the offers would be the right decision? Or wait and see. But although I am VERY eager to leave my current environment.
Would appreciate your advice 🙏🙏🙏

I suppose Stephanie can be just very, very tired and also lonely in mothers' "lonely but never alone" way.
Maybe it's just the time when "you can't have it all" and it's better to wait a moment with changing a job until the kids are bigger. I don't know, I am not Stephanie, I am just sharing my own experience.

Or simply the lady that asked a question could be in a wrong position that is fine on the surface? I watched your videos from the very beginning, when you were saying how your corporate job made you burn out, how you worked till 11pm, how finding this career that you have now made you happier and fulfilled? Maybe then it wasn’t the workplace that was bad, maybe you felt empty personally? I have to say i am very disappointed with the message in this video. I hope Stephanie finds a place where she feels joyful to work for, where she feels her talent and aspirations are coming to life. Nothing wrong in feeling unfulfilled with the job, very common. And it doesn’t mean the problem lies within the person.
