Undervolt ANY Ryzen Laptop CPU for more FPS | Tutorial | R7 5800H on Lenovo Legion 5

It is actually possible to undervolt ANY laptop with a Ryzen CPU! Be it a Ryzen 5 5600H or an R7 5800H or even an R9 5900H this works for everyone of them! Works with previous gen and Ryzen 3 models as well!

This is gonna be the first video on the whole internet covering this topic, so get ready and at the end of it, drop a like and a sub if it was helpful!

Here is the link to AATU:

it’s limiting cpu temp not undervolt.

undervolt = lower temps + normal or higher performance!

If you want to undervolt go to that software leave everything unchanged and find curve optimizer then apply ranging -20 to -25 value then save.

Thank you! "Temperature Limit" works like a charm! Now my mental health is no longer under threat! :)

3:45 who are you trying to fool here? I see lower clockspeeds than at the beginning. Not by much, by like 100-150 Mhz but that's still not undervolting, that's underCLOCKING. My friend recently tried Ryzen software that is supposed to control voltage. And while it does work on some 4000 models, it DOES NOT work on Ryzen 5800h.

I tested it on the legion 5 pro (5800h), the temperature is lower since the processor frequency is lower, there is no difference if you limit the frequency in the control panel settings. For example, in the "balance" mode, the program sets the frequency to 3900, in this case all the temperature and power indicators are identical to the situation when you limit the frequency to 3900 in the windows control panel. From this I concluded that this is not an undervolting

Great new video! Thumps up for that. You can also disable CPU boost through Power Plan settings, then you won't need a third party software for that and your CPU temp will never go above 75c. You can easily enable CPU boost any time through power plan.

MAN YOU HAVE SAVED MY LIFE, I WAS SUPER DEPRESSED ABOUT MY COMPUTER, THINKING WHERE TO GET MONEY FROM TO BUY ANOTHER ONE, THINKING ABOUT WHEN IT WOULD COST ME TO FIX IT, BUT THIS USED ME A LOT, YOU ARE AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN

Hi just to let you know that the undervolting aspect of this program does not work on the 5600 and 5800 as said by the developers themselves, it'll work on the 6000 series and 5900 versions though.

2:54 - for some reason you assume every graphics card overheats in a laptop. That's not how it works. Even if you mean dynamic boost, it won't always be enough to activate it by just making the CPU consume a little less power.

They replaced the AATU with a UXTU which is similiar thing. Also there an adaptive mode where you can literally undervolt play with the curve optimizer and voltage which yields better results than just power limiting using the default presets. -20 to -30 on cores seems to be stable for my 5600H and the power draw/temps are much better, almost same performance.

Thank you so much. I didn't expect anything because of different opinions, but it works very well on my 5800h. Actually, when I turned cinebench, both multicore and single core went up 300 points despite lower temperature and voltage.

It actually works! It downgrades the performance a bit but it keeps the temps down! Thanks a lot.

Is there any danger in limiting the temprature maximum?

There is another similar option Ryzen Controller. It is much easier there to limit max temperature without a need to customize other options. Or/and limit TDP. So your CPU will just run a constant temp you want under load. Less temperature shocks and stress for CPU and nearby components. I tested it and it holds the temperature not more than +1 degree celsius from the limit. While keeping performance at a reasonable level. Recommended safe temperature for games is 75° C. 80°is O.K. 70° - For those who wants to be sure.
Actually I got 10% more points in Cinebench R23 with 80°C limit than without limitation by default where I had max t 92°C.
And got 5 % more than default with 70°C limit. Which is very nice : I Got 21 °C max_t drop with higher CPU performance !
I got 4% drop with 65°C limit

I have Vivobook Pro 15 with 5600H. The test I mentioned was with fans in Standart mode. Where it gets 7150 points by default or 9200 if I tweak everything I can to max with temperatures up to 96°C

I chose balanced, still goes up to 96 degree, have to create custom preset to limit to 90 degree

hello, I have a laptop with 5800 and 3070, you made another video on the graphics card and how to undervolt it, in my case should I apply your two videos?

My laptop does not go below 98 degrees when I put it in "balances" mode and the worst thing is that yours reaches 5700 when you're doing the stress test and mine is hard to reach 5100, what could I do? I need help please.

Performance mode unlock full tdp, and cpu start heating and throttling, and on my laptop it losing performance more than in balance mode.

What else can I use instead of AMD Utility, cos it says that my Ryzen 7945HX is too new? 😢

Does this work with amd ryzen 9 5900hx with radeon graphics ?
