Undervolt your Laptop RTX 3060 for more FPS - Asus TUF F15 Dash

Most laptops are thermal constrained, so even if they have powerful hardware they tend to run slower due to overheating. Either that or they're power limited via software to avoid overloading the battery charger. Well, undervolting solves both of these problems! It also increases CPU power, since by reducing the power drawn by the GPU there's more headroom for the CPU. This time I'm using an Asus TUF Dash F15 which is a very thin laptop and so undervolting REALLY makes a difference. The specs are: RTX 3060, i7 11730H, 16GB RAM, 512GB NvMe SSD. 144Hz Display.

The tutorial works for every RTX 3060 laptop. I have a different tutorial for desktop models on my channel! Let me know if you like the results!

The first setting dropped my 3060 laptop by 12 to 13°C. I was hitting thermal limits before and losing frames. Thanks!

Perfect tutorial, the performance undervolt boosted my timespy score by about 500 with same temps and running stable!

WOW...
Before - 80-82°C on GPU
After second method - 68-70°C
ASUS TUF DASH F15 (2021) RTX 3060.
Thank You!

Hey what's the point of bringing down the core clock curve at the start? Some do it and some don't 😅

Straight forward and to the point. Thanks--this helped with both my 3060 SFF and my 2060 laptop :D

Thanks man! I tried 2nd option on my Hp Victus 16 - 3060 laptop and result was amazing. I played AC:Valhalla on high settings and my gpu reached max. 67celsius. I also turned off cpu's turbo boost settings on windows' power settings. My cpu also reached max. 68celsius on AC:Valhalla. Great guide, thanks again.

after doing this, my laptop gave a blue screen and started rebooting itself. I have dell g15 5511 rtx 3060 i7 11800

Got a nitro 5 used heaven benchmark
ryzen 5 6600h rtx 3060

Before uvoc: 209fps at 81c 5265score
After uvoc: 209.9fps at 74c 5287score

Improvements are not that substantial but when it comes to power draw im sure its better than stock. Thankyou very much dor this!!!

The second setting dropped the temps below 70 from mid 80s but it also decreased the performance

The 11370H is a huge bottleneck and it gets even worse when thermal throttled. Since there is no way to undervolt the CPU, I decided to follow your recommendation and I can say that the the minimum framerates improved considerably. The GPU runs way cooler though it wasn’t a huge problem even before, but the CPU still manages to reach pretty high temps (90 and above) though there’s overall less frequency throttling. Need to test in some other games but I’m already pretty happy with the results. Thank you!

So it is necessary to open msi after before starting the game? Or these setting will be applied automatically on startup?

Thanks for this. Straight to the point, no messing about. Worked well.

This video is limited since you don't explain WHY you use the numbers 1650 mhz for 'performance' and 1550 for 'less heat' production.
Your GPU clearly runs higher than 1650 mhz too during the 3d test

I just followed all steps which you mentioned 775 [mv] @ 1650 [clock] +300 [MHz]. Now it's 10°C lower. But is it possible to get better performance with slightly higher values? Would you recommend any SAFE value slightly higher? If it yes, what should it be?
By the way, i have RTX 3060 Laptop GPU with 130 [Watt] TDP.

After tuning/undervolting 6 3060 and 3060ti it seems voltage-floor which vram downclocks to 10GHz is 731-756mv depending on binning etc. 2 vards did 731mv, 3 did 743mv, 1 756mv. Typically at 731mv one card can do 1620MHz, another could max to 1590MHz. The worst binned card needed 750mv for 1590MHz, so not a big variance.

Thanks bro, I had been looking for those values for the mobile rtx 3060, I really thought that MSIAfb did not work with this lap because it made me artifacts or closed the games, if the voltage and frequency went up or down a lot, I confirm it on my part Your values are good and they worked very well for me, excellent video.

Do all the stuff and nothing works. I’m on ROG zephyrus G14 3060 laptop try second option and do nothing. Temperatures keep at 83 degrees under stress workloads. Can’t move fan option looks grey and stuck. what should I do? Thanks for the video!
