This is super healthy and easy to prepare, Could be used in many recipes. Ingredients is below, you could do half cup instead.

Chickpea cheese or call it tofu
1 Cup of dried chickpea, soaked overnight, You could use the Flour
Salt to taste
Pinch of Cumin
3 tbsp of nutritional yeast flakes
2 tbsp of prepared annatto oil, it's for colour or use a tsp of turmeric
2 1/2 cups of water, Plus
1/2 cup water for later, if you don't want your tofu extra firm then add 1 cup more of water to boil, for a softer consistency

Great recipe, I make mine without oil. I add garlic and herbs and the flavor is beautiful

Thanks for this. I actually had already Cooked lot of CPs before I saw this vid. Based my sauce off of your but added brown mustard and liquid smoke. My regular eating hubby said if I hadn't told him he'd thought it was real cheese sauce. Had it over a baked potato and steamed broccoli. YUM!

I'm using tumeric for all. Then garlic and fine chopped dried parsley for one batch. Dates and Cilantro for another batch. Turned out amazing. Had 3 cheeses.

Maria, you can add a a spoon of pimento peppers diced from a jar or some of the red peppers that come in the jar that are whole. Put about a fourth of a pepper. It will add a nice sharp cheese flavor and more red color which will make it a deeper Orange. It's an extra nice touch. Try it!

I was excited that i had all these ingredients, so i made this instantly. But. Nutritional yeast triggers a migraine in me, so i used a few other spices. This was delicious in a sandwich with seitan in the form of fake ham slices. Hugs!

Without the seasonings it is called Burmese tofu. Regular tofu is made from soybeans. I might give this a go!

Just made my first batch. It's setting up now. I added 1 jalepeno, cumin and red pepper flakes. The tastes is great. Can't wait to try different seasonings. Thanks so much for sharing.

What you made is a variaton of what in the United Kingdom is called pease pudding or pease porridge, which is made from legumes like split peas, red lentils, or chick peas. Tofu requires the use of a coagulant. Pease pudding/pease porridge can be seasoned in a variety of ways. Vegetable broth can be substituted for the water. Pease pudding/pease porridge has a long history going back to ancient times. You may have heard the nursery rhyme, "Pease pudding hot, peae pudding cold, pease pudding in the pot, nine days old!" It is found in other regions of the world under different names. A variation of pease pudding/pease porridge can be made from gram or besan, chickpea/garbanzo bean flour, or sattu, toasted chickpea flour.
