Low to High Cable flies will always involve some shoulder flexion, first part is entirely shoulder flexion. The point being, you can NEVER remove shoulders from any chest movement entirely however we can try engaging the chest fibres more through variations of flies. You may have to try and test the cable at different heights as per your structure and best form. The key here is don’t take it too hard on yourself if you feel your shoulders sore on a Chest Day.
As a matter of fact, flaring your elbows more could increase the shoulder engagement and pain for you considering the same analogy we apply towards presses( Except Guillotine Press )with a slight inclination in elbows at about 45 degrees because the shoulders are waiting to take over at the extremes _the anterior deltoid . To be on a safer side, you could try the flies he suggested with the same angle. It would only then make sense to feel what’s right in the clavical head. Try doing it with single arm as a warmup placing the other hand over the working head.
The learning part is this.
Then you will eventually try few aspects.
See what suits your body the most and take what works for you, leave rest behind.

You will never have the Shoulders part removed from any Chest Day. Period
