What to do if YOUR leopard gecko has UMBILICAL attached | Baby | (2022)
Hello gecko guys and GALS!
Sometimes leopard gecko babies are born with their UMBILICAL cord still attached to their abdomen. It is crucial that you know why this is and WHAT to do in regards to the SITUATION.
Thankfully most babies' ATTACHED Umbilical cords will fall off within 24-48 hours. However, there are a couple of things you'll want to be aware of, the first of which being cleanliness. It is crucial you keep your gecko on a simple, and clean surface during this time to avoid any possibility of contamination/infection since the Umbilical cord is basically a large open "wound" in the gecko's stomach for the time being.
Most geckos will drop their umbilical cords and seal their bellies shut even before they hatch. But some on rare occasions, will not. This video will show you what to do!
