Zero calorie beverages actually do have zero calories though; they are basically just water with artificial sweetener. Your body can't digest aspartame, just like fiber, but it is still similar enough in structure to activate the chemoreceptors in your tongue and cause the sensation of sweetness.

In Europe they actually state the amount of calories. A Coke Zero has 1.5 calories per 100 mL. In the US they just round calories to the nearest 10th so it shows 0 on the bottle

I watched a video where a guy claimed to eat nothing but canned corn for a couple of days and he didn't chew the corn at all. He posted the product of his effort and it was nothing but corn that looked like it came out of a can. It was done after a guy named Grade A Under A mentioned it as a joke. So you can add corn to the list but you can't chew it.

So using the same logic as the ice water, if you drink an iced coke zero which has 5 or fewer calories and you expend 8 calories to bring it back up to body temp. then coke zero or similar beverages would also be negative calories, just less so than water.

I count calories and if it’s 5 calories and only having one diet soda a day I’m not worried. Still dropping weight and building muscle😏
