Thanks for laying down the law Bob. For all of the great people out there, there are far too many who just can't conduct themselves in a civil fashion.

Nice work Bob. Whoever said that downhill won't pass x-ray needs a head examination. It doesn't matter how long one has been welding. The key to about any good weld is consistentcy. And much of that is preparation.

Bob speaking for myself I'm not a great welder but watching your videos gives me a lot of information about welding things I never thought about and from what I've been watching on your videos you got it going on just one word thanks cuz.

Bob Moffatt is an utterly competent individual, who seeks to support the next generation of professional welder. While I will never be a professional welder, I've gained a great deal from his teaching.
Thank You Bob

I know I’m very late to this video (2yrs) but now that I have did anyone saying it couldn’t be done ever run a Lincoln ranger they have a stick setting for downhill pipe. Bob you are the man and probably my favorite teacher I’ve never been In the classroom of. So god bless and keep the knowledge coming

If I could have given two thumbs up.... Keep them coming. I'm 55+ and picking up welding as my 'retirement hobby' and you have taught me a lot.

Another great video Bob. You know those dummies throwing out the f bombers cannot be true welders, for the most part 90% of real welders want to help other individuals learning to Weld as well as have an open mind on any Weld processes. Thank you for keeping it real.

thanks for showing the xray testing. i was a maint supervisor for a lot of years and i had welders that needed to be certified for some of our customers. passing an xray inspec is no piece of cake some of my guys took the test more than once and it can get expensive. mabe some day you can delve into the world of "certification" most people don't have a clue what it means.. as for your critics, they fall into the class of "engineers who never drove a train".

Man, that sucks that you have to deal with idiots. That's one of the main reason I don't post videos any more. I LOVE THIS THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND

Bob, thank you! Your videos are always educational, entertaining and I for one enjoy them. I'm 47 and have been welding about 29 years and every day is a new day to learn, you never stop. Thanks!

Hey Bob, Gary from CT here. Ya know I to can sware like a trucker at times too, but I also know how to act like an Adult most of the time and talk like I am one. Anyway, great point of clarification Bob. Maybe it has something to do with some folks can't or never have done a root pass up or downhill. Just because someone hasn't done it, doesn't mean it can not be done. Hell, I'm 63 years young and I'm learning all the time to Bob. I've been an Electrician for 38 of those years and I'm just getting into welding now! How about them apples!

I've been in the welding field over 40 yrs, and have been an instructor for 3 yrs. I have used Bobs videos extensively in teaching my students. The man KNOWS what he is talking about.

I went to a local college 20+ years ago for welding, I still learn new things today. A person should keep an open mind and be willing to learn new things. I love the videos and content the keyboard commandos talking stuff to you like that probably haven't picked up a stinger or a tig torch.

I have been doing a lot of downhill root and fill then a 7018 cap just for speed on these field welds i have been making at gas plant. They will shoot clean every time and have a wedding band on the inside of the pipe. That 6010 down hill pushes a nice root in. Its quick and clean. Rig welders have been doing it for years.
