Hi, Thanks for another great video. Please can you do a video on welding Sch 10 6inch (DN150) pipe 0.134inch (3, 4mm) which as I understand requires a single pass using 7018 rods.

With all due respect, bob.. you had A LOT of fire on the outside of the pipe. The second half you could see it was spitting inside inconsistently. On a SA200 or similar you’d run say.. 3rd gear and 35-40 on the remote for a gap like that on 2” which is almost double the amperage you were running. I think you’d get a lot better of a visual of the keyhole, and the amount of fire that should be inside the pipe with settings similar.

Not knocking anything, I know 2” is forgiving, but I’d be amazed if you did have some IP or suckback in the bead. Several times your keyhole closed, or your rod rode up one side of the bevel and you weren’t getting in...

I know you've probably mentioned this before but why do you have a gap? why can't you just but it up together and weld it and are there times where you can but it up together and weld it?

I have some questions about running innershield NR 232 and NR 233 flux core wire for structural steel applications. I have had many problems with running these wires in various positions mainly vertical up. Such as wire punch through, slag incursions, and root cracks to name a few. Can you do a series on these wires and maybe I can figure out my problems. Thank you.

@Bob -- What is the thickness of the wheels you use for grinding your tacks? They look like regular cutoff wheels.

Why haven't they a better coating on 6010, 7010 and 8010 rods so the coating doesn't get in the way?
